I just purchased a Polar FT40 to track my calorie burn when lifting. Now someone is telling me your cannot use a HRM to track calories when lifting...true or not?

True. You use a different system than you do for cardio, and hrms make assumptions based on your age sex weight height and heart rate to estimate your calorie burn. I still use mine when lifting to keep an eye on heart rate and recovery though!0

The Polar FT80 is the one that is supposed to work with Strength Training. It is more expensive than the FT40 though.0
