Twins after RNY now fighting to get the weight back off.

I had RNY on December 23, 2008. I started off at 250 lbs and got down to 136 lbs, I was super tiny and wore a size 4. I was even asked by the hospital where my surgery was done to do a photo shoot. They still have my picture plastered everywhere on all kinds of signage and mailings. I gained back to weighing around 160 lbs and leveled off for a while. Then we decided to try to have a baby in May 2011. I wasn't sure I would even be able to get pregnant again (I already have 2 teenagers) since I had PCOS before surgery. I ended up getting pregnant practically immediatly after coming off my birth control pills. Apparently getting pregnant that close to coming off your pills increases your chances of having twins, I wasn't aware of that at the time. Anyway, I gave birth to our twin boys on February 24, 2012. I gained 54 lbs during pregnancy and in the first 2 weeks after having them I lost 40 lbs. It was incredible, I was thrilled that the weight was falling off the way it did. It didn't last however. I found it was a lot harder to stay on track with my weight than ever with having no time to even sleep. My boys take up so much of my time. I'm very greatful for them and my life would be less fullfilling without them so I'm so happy we decided to to get pregnant. They're 9 months old now so it's about time to get back on track. I just need to find my focus and find time to take back my body. I knew that my weight just kept creeping up and I keep telling myself that it was okay and I could wait till the beginning of the year to really start. Today I weighed myself and for the first time since having my RNY, not counting my pregnancy, I'm over 200 lbs again, 201 to be exact. So needless to say, today I decided I can't wait till the beginning of the year. Now is the time to take my life back! Now in this time of pain, now when it's the hardest, now that I have realized how out of control I have gotten. I hope to find support and new friends who understand my struggles so that we may help each other to reach our goals!

  • Hi, jut saw your reply. I actually found a couple of facebook groups that have a lot of encouraging people in the same boat. I learned about the 5 day pouch test and after doing that my weight loss has finally started back up. I also have been going to the gym a lot as well.
