I screwed up about half way through last month, but was honestly happy I made it that long. I found the challenge really helped me stay on track, and I was really bummed to report I was out. These past two weeks I have stopped exercising consistently and eating the budgeted calories..I really needed the challenge to stay on track! I'm excited to be back!

    Welcome, everyone!

Cass, I'm glad you're back. I didn't make it the entire month of June, either, and I too realized how difficult it is to stay on track once you're out. I'm thinking about joining a separate group--in addition to this one--so that I'll have a group to fall back on in case I don't make it again.
  • Hi , I'm imran and i am 16 going 17 this year. I am about 87kgs , i have lost about 12kgs this year :D . I hope i will have everyone's support and i will support everyone as well. I hope i won't fail this challenge! :D

    Hello,

I'm Belinda, 29 years old, married with an 8 year old daughter. I've been on and off MFP for about 6 months and I'm really wanting to get back into it so I'm really excited about this challenge (and nervous truth be told!!). I have a few medical issues that according to the doctors are all the result of being overweight (which I think is crap) so I'm just trying to lose weight, while pestering them to look at other reasons in the meantime.

Feel free to add me and we can motivate each other through the coming month!!

    Good luck everyone,
    Belinda
  • Hi! I'm Maddie. Im 19 and I work overnights at mcdonalds. (so not loving it) my calorie goal is 250 a day, and I usually get off my shift at 7 then go to school and then the gym :P Nice to meet you all! Oh and I started at 227 (i lied in my intro:P) and I am down to 181.8. :)

Hi! My name is Lynn, 47, crazy busy full-time working mom of DS 14 and DD 12. Today, I celebrate my 1st year anniversary here on MFP. Although I’ve lost the ‘bulk’ of my excess weight, I’ve slowly begun loosing focus on what needs to be done to make this journey a successful one. In the last couple of months, I’ve been starting to hum ‘I’ve lost that loving feeling’ so this is the group for me! Sending out my very best wishes for success in this awesome challenge! Good luck everyone! :)
  • Hi! My name is Devin I'm 19, I work as an office assistant and taking care of my grandmother, I'm trying to lose 67lbs by September and 35lbs more by the end of the year. I've only been doing this for a week in a half so I'm hoping this can keep my accountable since I'm already tiring of what im doing. Thanks so much! Good Luck Everyone ;D

Hello, I'm just getting back into the habit of using Myfitnesspal after giving it up during the final months of university. I managed to go from 143lb last August, to 120lb by March this year, by using the site. Most of the time I stuck to 1200 calories.

Now I'm at 121.6lb (and was at 124lb after exams, recently) so I'd like to lose a few pounds. Not too much, maybe get down to 115lb and build some muscle. Really I just want to be healthier, since my diet was just junk food during exams and I no longer do ANY exercise. I might up my calorie goals to 1400 or 1500, just to be more realistic about things.

    I'm a strict vegan, too.

Hi my name is Rachel Adams. I'm a military wife and mom to an active 7 year old and to one little angel. I am trying to lose weight to better help my PCOS and so far from the last challenge I have lost 8 lbs. total and hope to keep losing!

I'm glad you have you back, Rachel! You and the other four who made it through June's challenge are in inspiration to me.
Hi everyone! My name is Jessica. I am a 31 year old mommy to three beautiful children. My weight has never been a problem u ntil after my third baby. I usually would weight around 125 - 130, but I admit I let myself go for a little while there. But when I got on the scale and saw 186 I started to cry. I have tried everything from different diets, programs, nutritionist, etc. I have been able to get my weight down to 173, but still it is not go enough for me. A friend of mine told me she tried a program like this, not sure if this is the one or not, but had great success because of the structure and the routine and support she was from fellow members. I am willing to try anything right about now. I have been doing the program for a week and finally figured it all out and I am hoping that by sticking to the directions and logging in I will have some success. I will keep you ladies and gentleman posted on how I do. and good luck to all!

I'm excited it might be this challenge your friend told you about. I never considered people might be talking about it. Glad to have you on board! :)
Hi. My name is Michelle. Started MFP 6/18/13. Lost 9 lbs. so far by logging my food and changing portion sizes. I'm about to be 46 years old. I'm not active but want to change that. My two boys are 14 and 16 years old. look forward to being more transparent and accountable. Currently I weigh 328 lbs. In about 2 years I want to be 130 lbs.:flowerforyou:

Hey, we're aiming for the same date by which to meet our weight goals. Glad to have you here, and good luck to you. :flowerforyou:
Howdy, I'm Gorman. I've been using mfp for almost two months. I want to lose weight so I can be more active. My diet is plant-based, and I've been doing hour walks every day, which is hard as I live on the gulf coast--hot, hot, hot! I'm a mommy to a beautiful, almost-three-year-old corn snake named Teosinte :)

Oh, I love corn snakes, and what a beautiful-sounding name for one. It's been incredibly hot here the past week too, although I imagine not as bad as what you're experiencing. Good luck!

Hi, My name is Sarah. I have been seriously using MFP for 30 days now. I am down 15 lbs so far. I am loving all the movement that I have been getting just by being active!! My usual routine is to get up before my family and go for a walk that is a minimum of an hour. In the middle of the walk then I start up C25k and go through the 28.30 minute walk/jog. I just got back from vaca where I was unable to to get up and do my morning walks. We went camping and have 5 year old twin so waking them up that early would have made extremely long days!!! It has been really hard to get back in the swing of my regular exercising but I am fighting to get there. I hope that this challenge can really get me trained to exercise every day!! I love that it starts on July 1st, which is my birthday!! So this is going to be the ultimate birthday present to myself, getting on a regular exercise regiment!!! It is great to meet all of you and I look forward to checking with with you all every evening!!!

Happy early birthday, Sarah. I have two kids who are very close in age too--I can imagine what a handful twins can be! Welcome to the group. :)
Hello Everyone. I'm ready to start this challenge. The accountability and transparency is exactly what I am looking for. I follow a paleo lifestyle and will also be doing a Whole 30 during the month of July. Good luck, all!

    Juliste

Hey, Juliste. Welcome. I've been looking into the paleo lifestyle myself. It seems like a good way to avoid processed foods.
Hello everybody, I just joined myfitnesspal and this challenge feels like a great way to get started. Looking forward to all of our progress!

Hello. Welcome to MFP and to the challenge. :)
Hi everyone, I just joined MyFitnessPal. My name is Jeanny and I'm 21. A few days ago, I decided to start exercising to get a better cardio because both my grandmother and my mother have heart conditions. ;) It won't be too sad to lose a few pounds while I'm at it.

Hi, Jeanny. I'm glad you're doing this more for the overall health benefits than for the weight loss. Good luck to you! :)
Hey everybody! I have been on MFP since September 2012, although I took a bit of a break during spring. I have been back at it for a month or so now and have seen amazing progress. I think taking some time to maintain was a great decision while I was working on my BFA thesis and then taking a long vacation in Vegas and California. Now that I've graduated, I'm moving to LA at the end of July, so I think this is the perfect challenge for me! I only have a few more pounds to lose, not sure where I will land.

Other than that, I live in Florida right now and I just graduated from UF. I am a vegan of 2.5 years, artist/photographer, life-long writer, nutrition buff, foodie, and home cook. Former dancer and vocalist. Aspiring amateur bartender and restaurant/bar critic. Regular gamer and fantasy fiction addict. Runner, hiker, urban cyclist, yogi, and lover of free weights. Aaaand... whiskey. All things whiskey. lol

    Looking forward to the group!

Hello. I like fantasy fiction and gaming too. And I live in San Diego, so it looks like we'll be neighbors soon. Good luck with the challenge and congratulations on your degree. :)

Hello everybody, I just joined myfitnesspal my name is Meshael, I am 31 yers old, this challenge feels like a great way to get started. Looking forward to all of our progress!

Hi, Meshael. Glad to have you in the group. :)
Hi everyone! I am a newlywed and I have been putting on more weight and I didn't realize how much until I seen a group photo with me in it! So I need help with consistency and self control, to get fit and healthy. I am excited about this challenge, this is what I believe I need to help me. I started my weight loss journey on this pass Wednesday, with the accountability I believe this will help me stay motivated as I strive to make it to the end.

Friend request are welcome for support. :-)

This challenge sounds like it's for you. I can't wait to see how much you lose with us. Welcome. :)
Hello Everyone, my name Is Graham, and I love a challenge. I am looking to lose 40 pounds or so, and this seems like a great place to keep myself accountable.

Hi, Graham. Welcome to the group. :)
Hello! My name is Marni and I'm a 30 year old nurse and graduate student. I've been very very slowly losing weight and getting in shape over the past 5-6 years (with many ups and down) through subtle lifestyle changes and want to commit to slimming down another 15lbs in an official way.

I'm watching both calories and carbs while exercise is primarily running/jogging and yoga. I eat as little processed/pre-packaged food as possible and am always looking for recipes that incorporate more veggies into my diet.

Hi, Marni. I've heard losing weight slowly is best, so it sounds like you're doing everything right so far. It sounds like you have a good plan coming into the challenge. I've been avoiding processed and pre-packaged food lately too, and it's amazing how much easier it is to stick to my diet.

    Hi Everyone!!!

My name is Bridget and I' from Boston, MA!!!
I am 24 years old and have been a member of MFP for a little over a year. In that time I have lost about 50 pounds. I want to continue my journey as I feel I have about another 40 or so pounds to lose before I can say that I want to maintain a healthy weight. With that being said I have hosted several of the Bathing Suit Ready Challenges and enjoy the competition and motivation that comes from challenges. While this challenge does not provide a whole lot in the way of competition the strict daily logging provides wonderful accountability which is EXACTLY what I need.
Feel free to send me a friend request. I love to share stories and motivational tools with others and the support of MFP is truly a contributing factor to personal success.

    Good Luck!!!!

Hello, I am Jennifer. I am 41, single mother of an active 7yr old son who is helping me on my weight loss journey. I am also a full-time college student majoring in Elementary Education. I will be student teaching in the fall, and have a lot of clothes that are perfect for this, but I can not fit into them. This challenge sounds perfect for me. Tracking my food daily, and staying within the limits are not a real problem. Exercising every day is going to be my greatest challenge, but knowing I will get kicked out will really help motivate me! I am looking forward to meeting this challenge and seeing the weight loss results on July 31st as a result of this challenge. Good luck everybody! We are in this together, so please do not ever feel like you are alone. Friend request me if you want and we will encourage each other. I have found blogging and just moving around on this site is very helpful in reducing my eating. When I want to eat but am not hungry I get on here. Started on here Thursday, but it is real similiar to Weight Watchers, which I had success with. Look forward to sharing the victory with y'all July 31st! We CAN do this!

Hi, Jennifer. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate. I like MFP because it reminds me of Weight Watchers too (only free!). So glad you're on board with us. Good luck!
Hey everyone, I'm Jessica. I'm 26 and 5' 8" with quite a lot still to lose. I'm a desk-jockey nine-to-fiver with a husband and I'm in the middle of remodeling/renovating just about my entire house.

I'm currently one of the last members standing in the June challenge... Here's to making it through Sunday!

Yay, Jessica! Glad you're back again. :)
    Hola everybody ;),
I am Nala , 18years old .. Trying to get fitter for college

    Hola, Nola. Bienvenido. :)
Hi! I'm Shana. I travel A LOT so I need something to keep me honest about staying on top of MFP. This month is going to kick my butt!

    Hi, Shana. Welcome.
I'm Mary Lee. I just participated in the 20 a day challenge for May and again for June. I'm not losing a lot of weight but because we were required to exercise at least 20 minutes a day i've been more consistent with exercise than I ever have been in my life. My husband and I walk on avg at least 4 k a day. I am feeling a difference in my clothes.
I look forward to being accountable.

Hi, Mary. Exercise is great for you... better than losing weight, maybe. I'm glad to hear you've been keeping up with it--it's hard during the summer! Super glad you're here with us this month. :)

Hi everyone Dave just trying to loose weight I'm 41 years old have 3 kids and a wonderful wife and 2 grandkids

    Hi, Dave! Welcome.
Hi everyone. My name is Nancy and I am 45 years old. I had lost 85 lbs in a two year period and went from 240 lbs. to 155 lbs. I have gained back 15 lbs. and am struggling to get it off before it becomes more!! Would love any motivation and ideas from anyone. The accountability of this group will be great in keeping me on track. My exercise is not an issue but my snacking and sweets is definitely something I need work on. Good luck to everyone!!

Hi, Nancy. Have you tried not snacking at all and limiting yourself to meals only? I've never done it, because I don't think I could, but I have friends who swear by that strategy. Congrats on losing 85 pounds!
    Hi Everyone.

My name is Chrystal. I am excited about joining the group because I end up giving myself a cheat moment everyday. This will hold me accountable. I am nervous and excited.

Hello, Chrystal. I know you can rock this challenge. One more day! :)
Hi There Turnaround2012 here. I have been really serious about MFP for about 2 months now and I am really enjoying my journey to health and fitness.

I am married and have a wonderful daughter.

I travel in a sales job so I have to be very focused about eating right and working out on the road - I just can't "take days off" because I am out of town.

I am intrigued by the very strong accountability here and I could not resist the challenge :-)

Hi, Turnaround2012. I'm interested in seeing how you do. I hope this challenge works out for you. Welcome to the group. :)

Hi, Belinda. I hope your doctors figure out what's going on (or that it is actually the weight, and that losing it will solve everything). I added you, and I'm happy you're in the group with us.

Hi, Maddie. I remember those days of work and school and gym. I don't miss them. Well, sometimes I do. I'm glad to have you in the group, and I'm hoping your calorie goal is an error, because 250 calories a day is way too little unless it's with doctor supervision.

  • Hey! I'm Becky. I used mfp and was pretty successful throughout most of 2012. Ive moved twice since November and that, mixed with starting a crazy graduate program has made me fall off the wagon/lose focus. I got down to 181 but am now back to 210. I hope this group and all if the wonderful people in it can keep me motivated and accountable so I can finish 2013 strong!

Hi, Patti. Yes, you can eat back your earned calories. I've answerd that in more detail in the FAQs thread, along with other questions you or others might have. I've tried to anticipate what might be asked, but I'm sure I've left something off, so let me know if you have any other questions. Glad to have you in the group! :)
