Hi, everybody! Let's get to know each other a little bit.
I'm going into my junior year of mechanical engineering. I've been on MFP since high school, when I lost 15 lbs. Then I came to Purdue and gained 25 lbs back through dining courts, stress eating, and lack of exercise. This summer has given me a good head start for getting back in shape. I'll be living off campus starting in the fall, so I hope that I have an easier time controlling what I eat.
My goals:
1. Get back to my pre-college weight (-25 lbs)
2. Eat healthy, clean food
3. Exercise on a regular basis and gain muscle

Hi
I am ANSC/Pre-vet going into my junior year although I've only been to college for one year. I've been on MFP off and on for several years without real commitment, but now that I live on my own it's much easier and I've lost 15 lbs already this summer. I gained a lot of weight last year living on campus and also learning how to cook and take care of myself, so to speak. Going out with friends a lot also didn't help me make healthy choices (*drools at the thought of 5 Guys and Von's Dough Shack*). I went to the CoRec when I could, usually doing the elliptical or exercise bikes, but never enough to truly make a dent in how much I was eating. Stress and cravings will getcha every time!
I want to get back to my weight in high school before I went off to boarding school (-30ish lbs left)
I'm also exploring eating more healthily at home at at restaurants as well as fun ways to work out even if there is very little time.
I would also like to be more comfortable in my own skin so that I don't feel like "the ugly friend" at parties and events!
Nice to meet everyone!0 -
Hi everyone
MFP helped me lose 30 lbs after my freshman year...now trying to kick it in gear again as I'm back at my beginning weight and then some.
I graduated last December with a dual major in Industrial Hygiene and Environmental Health Science. Currently working in Indy but still reside in Lafayette.
Being out of college, away from my support (and not so support) group has been hard. I made a deal with my former PU buds to meet next April for a half marathon--I must confess I don't think I can even run a 5k at this point, so that is my goal.
Goals for the rest of the year and then some:
1. Get back down to 150's.
2. Eat clean--give up the junk food.
3. Get over the confidence issues and love myself.0 -
Hi, I am a potential transfer student. I am currently getting my core credits at the community college and intend to transfer them all to Purdue's EEE program. I will live off campus so as not to have to pay room and board; I will pay my own rent, thank you. i plan on transferring my core credits to Purdue, then taking the last few that I can't take at Gateway in CT at Ivy Tech. This will help with the resident status. I'll do that for a year while I try to get as much of the documentation they want as possible--I won't have a vehicle registration as I cannot drive due to my epilepsy. I will have to talk with the registrar to see if there is a workaround for that. I will also have a SecureID, not a driver's license, for this reason as well. One thing I need to discuss with the registrar is how the statement from your employer and paystubs work when you are self-employed. After completing these steps, i'll submit my application for resident status, and upon approval, save myself a lot of money.0
