Where are the badasses?

Ok. So there is a huge group out on the east coast that did the Spartan race together. I know there are more of us in MN that are willing to get down and dirty and do these races together to show the east coasters who the real badasses are. Where are you all at!

I would like to do a few of them next season for sure. I have the Muckruckus August 10th. Josie, I know you can't because you dun got yourself knocked up! lol If anyone wants to join me and Rhonda on August 10th PM me and I will give you the deets!
For next year so far the plan is to do Mud Games in Blaine if they come back to that location, Go Commando (volunteer and then run the volunteer wave), and then finally Tough Mudder! I am also planning on running Get Lucky Half Marathon if anyone is interested in just doing a long run.0 -

The one at Buck Hill is Camp Titan. It is a mud run obstacle course. It is on August 3 this year.0

I am a badass to be. I''ve never done an organized mud/obstacle course, but I just did my first running race on the 4th (Firecracker 10K) and loved doing military obstacle courses back in college.0

I plan to do Tough Mudder 2014 as it seems to be the only option in MN for an obstacle race of that distance
I really wish the Spartan Race would come to MN! It is chip timed and appears even more challenging (in terms of the obstacles) than TM.0 -
Minimalist...I completely agree! I love Muckruckus because it is timed but it needs more distance. Although 5 miles is not to be completely laughed at, I was not "DONE" when I finished the last time I did it. Tough Mudder looks pretty intense but I have talked to people who have done it and some have said that they didn't train very much and still made it through. Of course, I didn't ask how many obstacles they skipped or anything either.

definitely signing up for TM2014 (hopefully a marathon too?). Give me some incentive to keep training my long distance running this winter (need to gear up though, don't have any winter running gear right now).0

I usually can get through most of December without cold gear and then it is a must. I have to buy new stuff this year though....maybe I can convince people to get me gift cards for my birthday! lol0

All I've heard about from Tough Mudder is that running isn't the best way to train for it, and there is a lot of standing around at the obstacles waiting to go. I'd still like to give it a shot, if nothing else, just to say that I did it I guess.0

David, I signed up WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back when it was first announced. LOL I had been waiting months for them to announce the date, signed up with a dear friend of mine...she then got Lung cancer and had to start treatment so she is unable to run it with me. OkieinMinnie signed up to do it with me though...she saved me from having to do it ALL BY MYSELF! I would have been very sad. Sucks that you have all those projects....I try to sign up for the races I want to do at the beginning of the season when they are the cheapest. lol0
