Hi everyone! My name is Penni and I have been dealing with PCOS since I was 15,now 36 :frown: Over these years I have dealt with excess bleeding to months without, some facial hair ,diabetes and weight gain. I had a hunch that PCOS was hereditary but wasn't sure till now...explains why a couple of cousins also have it. Been through so many doctor's that never explained to me about this disorder much less how to control it or what it could do to my body. I am sure just like many of you I have been through all the mixed feelings of wanting to conceive and not being able too,the jealousy and anger to self pity. Now I am ok ,I would still love to have my own baby but I leave it in God's hands So I am here on my fitness pal to lose this weight and get healthy and in shape because I am still full of hope that it will happen! :flowerforyou:

Losing weight is such a big help for conceiving. My doctors told me I would never be able to have children but I lost over 100 lbs and had conceived one month after getting married. Other things that help, removing any products that have sodium laurel sulfate in it, avoiding soy, avoiding dairy, low carb 90% of the time, and weight lifting (not hulky body building kind). Basically anything that could possibly throw off your already messed up hormonal balance needs to go and you need to add exercise that makes you sweat. It really does work!0

Also a few years ago when I also lost 100 pounds (307-207) which I almost gained back..I could so kick myself  Any who I noticed this one day a clear egg white mucous...which they say that's when a woman is ovulating or fixing to ovulate.0

I'm 36 and on my second pregnancy 15 weeks. I lost the first one at 35. I NEVER thought I could become pregnant, but with a 50lb weight loss I was able to conceive.
It is possible. The first thing to focus on is getting healthy and then leave it in God's hands.
Never give up hope.0 -

I started lifting weights in January (Stronglifts 5x5) and conceived in May. I really think it helped with my hormones, even though that seems counter-intuitive. We had been trying since December 2011. I do a half an hour of weights followed by a half an hour of cardio (elliptical) three times a week.0

Hi Penni! I was diagnosed when I was 18 (though I had problems since 13). I have read a lot of encouraging stuff in this group, and I hope to be a mother someday myself. I am currently 32, and want to drop 112 more pounds. If I get preggo, great, if not, that's fine too. I can pretend to be a super hero and rescue a sweet child waiting for adoption. Anyway, best of luck to you my friend.0 -
