I just had to post here about this.. I have a tournament this weekend, and I am entered in the singles and doubles. I didn't have high expectations in the singles because I tend to let my nerves take over, and I play silly, no where near my capability. I played my first match against the same girl that I have met in 3 finals, and I lost all 3. I didn't play my best in all of them. I am a pretty big hitter but in tournaments, I tend to hold back and make dumb errors. This was not the case today. I don't know what or how I did it, but I won the first set 6-1....I played beautifully! Then the 2nd set, I went up 4-1. I was feeling confident and hitting pretty well. She upped her play a wee bit, and my crazy brain kicked in and started thinking about the finish line. Well, she came back and made it 4-4. I broke her and served for the match at 5-4. I got broken. Then I broke back, and served for it at 6-5. I got broken. Tiebreak. I went up 6-1. and thought "I will definitely win at least one of these points". She made it 6-5. I kept thinking, "noooo, not this again", but she ended up double faulting it away. I was so happy because aside from the few games that I got tight and let my head take over, I fought past it and got the win. It felt so good to win, and to win playing my game felt even better!
Then I had to play a doubles match right away, and we won 6-0, 6-0. Again, I played so well the whole match.
Next up I play singles, against the women who dominated the womens in the 90's. Sure she is older now, but she still can play. I didn't think I had a chance in hell to win. I won 6-0, 6-0. Im still in bit of shock.
I don't know how I did it, but I finally overcame an obstacle that has stood in my way for a couple years. Myself.
I am now in the finals of both events, which I wasn't expecting at all.
I am just so happy I had to share my little story.
The End

Congratulations, Sounds like you're finding your game!
Don't analyze it; accept it. Learn ways/techniques that help you get into that "zone."0 -
It took great britain 77 years to get a male Wimbledon champ, so you are way ahead of schedule. Congrats on a great day of tennis. Getting through that singles match will be in your mind next time, when your brain will be able to tell you that you are a winner!0
