I am currently registered for the Davis Stampede, the Lucky Run and the Davis Moo-nlight Run. All three are managed by A Change of Pace Foundation and are in Davis, California. Looking to add the California Classic in Fresno, and the half in Big Sur. More to come.

Haven't registered for anything yet, but have my eye on a few. Ideally, I'll run 12 or more races this year, but not sure my budget can handle the entry fees - they add up!

    1/19 - Tule Fog 10k in Visalia
    2/16 - Race Judicata 5k in Clovis
2/23 - Gnarly Neon in Fresno, but skipping that one because it's ridiculously expensive ($40 for early bird??? For a 5k?!)
    3/2 - Blossom Trail 10k in Sanger
5/19 - California Classic in Fresno
5/25 - Clovis Memorial 5k in Clovis - my first 5k race last year and definitely want to do it again, it was well organized and fun!

That's all I've got on my calendar so far.

That's awesome. I know what you mean about the fees adding up. I will probably do some local runs around Merced. February has the Honey Bun Run, which has a 10k and a 5k. The details haven't been worked out yet, but possibly in May will be Storm the Castle, again 10k and 5k. Storm the Castle ran through Castle Air Museum at the former Castle Air Force Base in Atwater. The Merced Running Club hosts the Run for Independence in Atwater (2 & 5 mile runs). There are a few other local ones. Fees are usually around $25 each. Don't think I would pay $40 for a 5k. Happy running and maybe I'll see you in Fresno.

'Sorry, not the 1st, it's on the 9th.

It was a fun race. Money is tight at the moment so I feel guilty about spending money on races, so I'm really trying to narrow down the ones I want to do - I think the Memorial Run will be one of them.

Fresno Zombie Run at Woodward Park October 19th!

    http://www.fresnozombierun.com/

Cost is $40 until May 15th, then goes up. You can be a runner or a zombie! Don't know if I will do this one - I'm afraid I might panic and freeze up if the zombies get too close! LOL

Just registered for the 8th Annual Freedom Run/Walk at Woodward Park on July 4th. Only 20 bucks if you register before June 25th. And if you register online, it appears to only be $16. Race link here: http://www.runsierra.org/freedom-run And there's a link there to register online.

No mention of race tee or goody bags, but refreshments and burritos (I'm assuming breakfast burritos?) for all participants, chip timed and awards for top three overall and in age groups. Should be fun - 7am run through Woodward Park is a good way to kick off the 4th!

So the Freedom Run was awesome, but the weather suuuuccked! It was 84º with about 50% humidity at race time on the 4th of July, and between the heat, humidity and hills of the course, it was the hardest race I've done yet, and the hardest 4 miles I've ever run, period! The volunteers at the second water station hit us with super soakers, and it felt SO good! They had them at the finish as well.

Great race, well organized, great people, too bad the weather was so awful!

So whats next? Who has a race coming up? Anyone doing the Neon thing at night at the Fresno Fairgrounds?

My next race is the Giant Race in San Francisco. I have also teamed up with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through their Team in Training program to run my first marathon on October 20th.
