John 8:12-20
Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
14 Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear record of myself, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I go; but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I go.
15 Ye judge after the flesh; I judge no man.
16 And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true.
18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.
19 Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
20 These words spake Jesus in the treasury, as he taught in the temple: and no man laid hands on him; for his hour was not yet come.

Observations:
1. Jesus spoke to opposition.
2. Jesus knew his opposition's mindset.
3. God chose the timing for things that happened in Jesus' life.
Interpretation:
Like Jesus, we should try to talk with those who oppose us(confidently) and try to understand where they come from so we can speak the truth in a relevant way. God chooses timing in our lives, just like he did in the life of Christ.
Prayer: Father, help me not shy away from those who oppose me, but be a good witness of your grace, truth and love. I pray you would help me be patient with the timing you have planned for my family's life.0 -

Take a moment and write down three observations of the verses. What strikes you? An observation is an observable fact from the Word.
1. Jesus said, He is the light of the world. whoever follows me will have the light of life.
2. The Pharisees says that He was his own witness so His testimony is not valid.
3. “You do not know me or my Father,” Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
INTERPRETATION:
What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
As Jesus has defended Himself, we should defend Him to people who do not believe.

OBSERVE:
Take a moment and write down three observations of the verses. What strikes you? An observation is an observable fact from the Word.
1. Jesus is the light of the world...
2. Whoever follows Jesus will not walk in the darkness, but have the light of life...
3. Jesus bear witness of himself, as did the Father who sent him...
INTERPRETATION:
What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
If we are truly following Christ we can't live in darkness because we will have the light of life. If we are living in darkness then we must have strayed from the path somewhere, someway, possibly without even realizing it.

Today, I learned _that when I keep my feet in the footsteps of Christ I will always be walking in the light of life, and when I feel the darkness closing in to look down and get my feet back onto his path and off of my own_ and apply it to my life
