Hey everyone! I'm Shelly. I'm a 2- time thyroid cancer survivor diagnosed in 2007, recurrence in 2010 and FINALLY cancer free in 2013! Oh yeah and I am also a GYN/oncology registered nurse
I'm determined to get this weight off. Apparently I'm my endocrinologists "Everest" as I have a multitude of metabolic and endocrine issues affecting my weight. My synthroid management is something that baffles us all as it doesn't seem like my body wants to utilize the HRT. Even so I am ready to get this weight off once and for all. I have been battling weight my entire life, yo-yo-ing back and forth between being obese and just overweight (I would never describe myself at thin even when I was only 145 lbs because I am only 5'3). Now I weight the most I've ever weighed in my life and I am fed up! I want to be healthy for me, feel better, buy cuter scrubs that I don't have to pay extra money for the plus sizes, and prevent or prolong any other health problems that may be lingering around the corner for me. I also want to be a healthy role model for my patients so here goes nothin'! I've decided to try nutrisystem concurrently with MFP to see if I yield better results than I did with WW or just plain calorie counting. So far so good, but motivation is welcome at any time. For all the cancer warriors out there... kick some butt

Welcome. It sounds like you are really motivated for change. In my mind I figure if I am strong enough to fight and win against cancer then I really have no excuse to not meet my fitness goals. It doesn't always work, but it motivates me more often than not. Good luck0
