Me  I'm running at 11:00. My friend, Laura, is running with me too. Also my hubby is running at 10:00 and then turning into a zombie at 12:00 lol!

Sweet, I'm running at 11 too. I have a group of coworkers and there is a group from here running at 11 as well. I wanted to be a zombie too but by the time I signed up it was full.

    that's the list I have for 11a.m.

I hope I'm well enough by then to run..... this back injury is pretty consuming... but still just 48 hours out from injury. Last time I did this was in 1991 and it's hard to remember how long it took to recover. At least this time I'm smarter about getting help for it and I'm in better condition physically. We'll see. Am thinking of xray to make sure the bones are okay - since I have osteoporosis.

Well, Paul just got back from the acute knee injury clinic. It wasn't great news :frown: His ACL repair is gone and they are recommending another repair as well as a high tibial osteotomy. He *may* return to skiing but he will not run again. They told him that, if he was 59 instead of 39, they would be talking knee replacement. He is super devastated. We were both just talking about how "unfair" it feels. I was out-of-shape for so long and it's only been in the last year that we've been able to start enjoying activities together again. We were going to run the marathon in May to celebrate his 40th birthday. He still wants me to do it and will be there to cheer me on but I know it will kill him not to be with me and it just won't feel the same. Blah.

I am so sorry to hear this... I would feel as if it was unfair too, and I would be pissed.
You have come along way, and you are an inspiration to all of us. If Paul can run it or not, he is very proud of you... and that means a lot to him too!

So sorry to hear this news! It has to be especially challenging since you've recently been experiencing the joy of being on virtualy par with him physical fitness-wise. There has to be things he can do working with therapist/training to maintain (minimize) his phisical fitness... I hope! Surely there are activities besides running you can do together? Biking? I imagine more surgery is in his future? Take care, we're all pulling for you guys. Such fun to meet you both and outrun zombies!

Oh wow, sorry to hear that about Paul - hopefully he can get healed up as soon as possible so you can at least enjoy the skiing even though that wasn't the ultimate goal. I think we all feel a bit guilty for 'surviving' when he got taken out and are all cheering for him to get through this!
