Day 5- let's discuss progress!

Wow, day 5 was interesting. It's funny, I find the strength segments easier than day 1, but still struggle with the cardio- mainly butt kicks and jump rope. After running for 8 weeks you would think cardio would be the easy part. Girlie push ups are rockin, I have def gotten better!!! Side lunge with weights is rockin too! I guess I also struggle with coordination on the bicycle crunches.

So, what are your thoughts as we take on day 5?? What's easy for you now (or easier)? What's still a challenge?? When is your rest day?

I'm only on day 3, but I feel the same way. I felt like the work out was just a tad easier today. Less pauses and less gasping for air, ha ha. Today I totally blasted through most of the exercises, and I didn't seem to sweat as much and be as red as was the first day. I still have problems with the butt kicks and jump ropes as well. I'm going to try and do each level for 10 days like some suggest, but we will see how I fare when I get to level 2. Its crazy though, I actually look forward to coming home and working out! And I was super surprised that I actually did it today considering I was up at the gym at 5:30 this morning.

Go Us!! I can't wait to see what we all look like at the end!!

    Keep it up!
  • im day 4 today but not done it yet as little girl wont be down to sleep for 2 hours yet. but i still find the push ups as hard as the first day, i have like no upper body strenght and doing the girly ones doesnt seem to help at all. can just about manage everything else.

Well day 5 is complete - I actually went out earlier so left it until 3 in the afternoon. I felt a lot more tired as I usually do this straight after I get up! I think I'll stick to doing it in the morning. As far as you asked about me keeping this up when I go back to school, not entirely sure. I'm based in the UK - I teach art, design, food and nutrition and technology to years 7-13 (thats ages 11-18) I have only just broken up and go back to school on 5th September. In exactly 28 days I will be in Sardinia and that is my motivation for getting a slightly better bikini body! After that maybe do a new DVD!

Well I'm on day 6 tonight. Was supposed to be last night but I had my eyes dilated at the eye dr and apparently I am one out of one million that had a severe allergic reaction and got really, really sick. I'm much better today and ready to pick up where I left off. Push ups are so hard on me too, even the girlie ones I have to stop and plank it out for a few moments before I drop again. My arms are really sore as well and I think I'm going to use my 1lb weights for those arm raises/side lunges towards the end, the 3lb weights are murder and I'm afraid I'm pushing too far too soon.
    SO day 6 tonight! Excited!

My husband tried to convince me to get the 5lb weights and I'm so very glad I didn't listen! The 3lb weights are so difficult and It's going to take possibly the whole 10 days just to get through the whole video using them. I was thinking that maybe I might hold onto one 3lb weight with both arms for the arm raises so that way it's still heavier then my 1 lb. weights but it won't kill me. I was also looking at my food diary here on MFP and I barely eat any protein at all so I bet that's why my arms and muscles are so weak and sore. I'm thinking about maybe getting a protein shake to take in the morning or after my work out... I don't know, still up in the air on it. Hoping to get in day 6 tonight but I promised my girls we would paint nails and its my night for dinner so busy me! But I'm sure I will find that short window of time to get in there and let Jillian have her way with my poor body hahaha.... ;)

I'm short on time, too. Going to a Thirty One party at 7, then hubby wants to run and do the dvd. We shall see if it all happens!!!

My husband bought 8 lb weights to start. Luckily I got 5 and already had 3, so he went to the 5 and I went to the 3. I tell people to get something that feels EASY to start with. Then you can move up. Using 1 3lb may be good!! I started feeling better when I started a protein shake, I drink one almost every morning, if not I have 2 eggs. Try lowering your carbs and fat a bit and upping your protein. My macros are set at 10% carbs 40% fat and 50% protein. Plus I, eating at my TDEE. THAT in itself helped a ton.

I just finished day 5 today and feel I'm pretty much in the same spot you were on day 5. Definitely noticed most everything other then the cardio is getting better. lol
I'm bouncing around between 3lb for anything shoulder and 5lbs everything else.
I think I might need to get a set of 8lbs though because the 5lbs are like lifting nothing for the chest fly. I'm a weirdo. lol

Day 5 and it's getting easier. It's the first set of cardio that's killing me. Jumping jacks just make me so out of breath. I am still catching up from those in the warm up. It doesn't help the first set of strength exercises also cause me to be out of breath. Having said that it is getting easier.
The lunges are still hurting but getting better and also the anterior rasies are getting there. I can almost do them all with the weights! The only other things I need to work on are the push ups. I can do them, so I just now need to push myself.

Day 5 and it IS getting a little better! I can do better on cardio and abs, but am still struggling with side lunges/arm raises. I am looking forward to getting all the way through the lunges and anterior raises!
