Any Aberdonians out there who can answer my question?

Hello all, i have many lovely friends on MFP but not many locals, so if there is anyone from the Aberdeen area who can help answer my question i would be gratetful. I just wanted to know if there is anyone who could recommend a decent gym in the city and what your experiences are with them?

Cheers

They got a PureGym before us. I've not been, but they should be pretty standard, and unless you're a beast, won't have the same limited weights issue that I have with them.

Yeah i just had a looky at their website and it seems nice enough, judging by their pictures anyway. The price seems really good too, definately more affordable than some places i've looked into.
I wonder if there would be a way to see it in person and have a look around before commiting myself to a membership though. Will have to look into it some more.
If there's anyone with experince of this gym or any other in Aberdeen i would love to hear from you!
    Cheers me dears

    Of course.

I've never been refused when I've asked to have a look at a gyms facilities before parting with any money. Once a Lloyd's tried to get me to fill in a form before, but I just waited until the official sales/tour guy pitched up and I explained that I just wanted a look.
Remember they're trying to sell you something. Who would refuse to let you see what you are buying and then expect you to buy it?

The only only other issue with PureGym is that they're in the centre of towns and don't provide parking. Aberdeen looked to be the case as the only time I saw it was when I was stuck in traffic and right next to it.

I'm originally from the 'shire' - no gyms there though, just the hills and rivers to run around. Interestingly enough I was at my fitness when I lived there! Not sure what that says lol.

If i lived in the 'shire' i would absolutley be out there everyday! the countryside is beautiful in Aberdeenshire especially in the summer, but i live pretty much in the city centre and i don't drive so don't get to travel out there all that often.

Have you tried the Banks o’ Dee gym? It’s not a massive gym but the quality of equipment is good and the staff are excellent. It’s fairly competitively priced aswel. Good location if you live/work in the South of Aberdeen.
  • Definately Aberdeen Sports Village.

Great gym, brilliant timetable of classes and good priced personal trainers available.
