So frustrated today. It's rained almost every morning for a week so I can't go run like I want to. Second, hubby had been struggling with foot/ankle pain for a few weeks. We got him properly fitted for new running shoes yesterday and found out he is developing Achilles tendinitis, which we don't want, and its caused by a pronating foot. Answers some questions, but we have to really scale back our exercise until his shoes come in (he wears a 14-15 so we have to order them). In the mean time, we have to either run or do the DVD. If that tendon gets worse, it could potentially rupture and that's the very last thing we want. Haven't done the shred since Friday, hopefully we will do it tonight. Also I go back to work wednesday this week, which means to run I will have together up over an hour earlier than I am now. Wish me luck, this is when I always give up exercise.

All of those things suck, especially your man getting tendinitis
I completely understand the "perfect storm" throwing you off when school starts again, I am also worried because that ruins me as well.
However, we can try our best! You probably hate this (and I do as well), but maybe you could try a treadmill/elliptical at the gym if you have one? Otherwise, maybe rather than run do other workout DVD's at home until it's sunny out/he gets better?
Not to sound mean or insensitive at all...but if hubby can't do it, maybe just go on without him for a bit, or alter the workouts so he can still participate. Like go on your own runs, do your own thing. Or, during the DVD's, maybe you guys could devise a floor weights routine/circuit for him while you do regular moves! Like you follow the DVD while he does arm and abs workout, or maybe he can do side leg lifts, pickpockets, etc. so he can still work out alongside you
I am worried, too...but this community is also something I've never had before. I think that the people here are SO supportive (you included), and that really *can* make a difference. Hope we can stick together and lean on each other in the coming months, stay honest and accountable, and keep making progress with our goals. You have already lost so much, so I know you're dedicated. You are doing GREAT, and you can do it :flowerforyou: All of these are just suggestions and trying to help like you do for me. Keep going :happy:0 -
Thank you for that!!! I do run on my own, try to 5 mornings a week, but when it rains I don't. I HATE running on the treadmill, so I just skip it. Probably not the best idea, but its what I do. We decided we will run one day and do the DVD the next, instead of running every other day and the DVD daily. He actually is the one that's kept ME motivated this last week or so. I'm really bad at following through with anything so this is a challenge. I need to remember my goal: if I keep up the exercise until Labor Day I get a fitbit flex!! Plus I just go new trail running shoes, so I CAN'T give up!0

altering the workout sounds like a great idea.
Hold back on the bouncy cardio to save putting pressure on his ankle. watch through level 2 and level 3 and find some of the exercises he would be able to do. floor moves would probably be ok. and lv 2 circuit 2 does a *military press with leg elevation* so as long as he can hold balance on one leg ok without putting too much pressure on it. ITS REALLY HARD to do but its not doing anything bad to my knee which i now have to go to the docs with tomorrow.
alternitively. go swimming. great full body workout with no pressure on legs.0 -

Aww poor hubby
That really is awful. I think alternating the days is a good idea. He might want to take a rest day as well, I mean I know it sucks having to wait but better safe then sorry. Let him still be your motivator though and I'm sure he will be happy to do so. Also remind him not to let you give up when school starts. I just set my phone for daily workout reminders just so I can have that extra push of what I'm SUPPOSED to be doing lol. Good luck and let us know if you need anything! Congrats on the new shoes. I'm currently saving up to be fitted for the right running shoes because of a retarded knee.

:-) thanks. Hope you get that retarded knee in line. Have you tried a brace?0

I hope so too. No I haven't tried a brace. I'm clueless on when to wear it or how to wear it or what it actually does lol. I think I might need to see my doctor about it. It's on the leg where I've had a tendon nicked near my knee and I also had a blood clot on that leg too and though I was told it would clear on it's own, I still have a lump and a bruise there, it's faint but you can see it and it's been two years.... I don't know, I hate going to the doctors.0 -

That's awesome that he's finally on track! I remember you posting that he was complaining about not seeing results, but then he lost several pounds...I bet that helped a bit  Hope he doesn't try to push himself and get hurt more, though...you may have to tie him down. Great goal to push for! I'm going to get a new sports bra when I lose 3 more pounds, something to look forward to:bigsmile: Let's get it, and remember every workout gets you closer (Even the treadmill)!!0
