    1. Lazarus was well known and people wanted to see him because he was back from the dead.

    2. People believed on Jesus because of the miracle of Lazrarus' being raised from the dead

    3. The leaders of the Jews didn't like that people were believing in Jesus and sought to kill Lazarus, too

    INTERPRETATION:

What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?

Loving and following Jesus puts us at risk for our lives and well being. People may want to destroy us for being a witness to God's grace and love. We must hold on to the truth of Lazarus' story.

    APPLY

Today, I learned some days are risky spiritually, physically and emotionally, but the miracle of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead is what is more important, that people might become believers.

PRAYER: Dear God, sometimes people judge us guilty by association. Lazarus was at risk. Help me prioritize my life, and get my weight and health under control and let me never fear being judged for associating with you. Amen

    1. People needed to SEE a miracle.

    2. Lazarus was in danger of violent persecution.

    3. The miracle brought more people to believe in Jesus much to the dismay of chief priests.

    INTERPRETATION:

What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
In the last few months God has been putting scriptures in my path about persecution, physical, violent, etc. And I am currently within an organization that does not want me to practice my spirituality openly. In fact, I'm in a country who would rather not hear about Our Lord and Savior. But I knew this coming in. I knew I would face lots of persecution and further build my christian life from the suffering I'm facing here. They're always a reminder to me that He is God alone. I'm not here to people please. There is no people pleasing in the kingdom. So regardless of if I get fired, kicked out of the country, etc. I will continue to worship God with my entire life. Unapologetically. I have complete faith that there is purpose, reason, love, growth, etc. in the life that I live here and that makes it worth it and enjoyable.

    APPLY

Today, I learned the freedom in living for God. It's always nice to be reminded of that. His strength through me has grown so much this past year. I'm willing to live this challenge out with my sights completely set on Him.

    1. A large crowd of Jews came out to see Lazarus because he had raised from the dead.

    2. So the chief priests made plans to put Lazarus's death.

    3. Because of this the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus.

    INTERPRETATION:

What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
Through miracles, many Jews believe in Jesus though the chief priests didn't want to believe in Jesus and was willing to kill Lazarus for being a proof of Jesus.

Today, I learned __people are going to be against me for following and believing in Jesus_and apply it to my life

    1. People wanted to see Lazarus.

    2. The chief priests plot to kill Lazarus.

    3. There was fear among the chief priests that people might believe in Jesus and be saved if they didn't kill Lazarus.

    INTERPRETATION:

What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today? We face persecution for our belief.

I learned that I must hold on to my faith regardless of how others may perceive it. It is not easy to do in the face of persecution; but to hold fast is to not deny Jesus. Which we must not do!
