*These starchy vegetables are great energy enriched foods for the athlete, but if you're eating for weight loss, I'd stay away from starchy vegetables for the most part.
**High sugar fruits are good in moderation, but if you're eating for weight loss you don't want to rely on these as your fruit of choice.

I just have to ask where do you live? Seeing rattlesnake, kangaroo, emu, reindeer and turtle is what made me wonder your location. I recognize that you're trying to be all encompassing, but those just struck me as odd.

I'm in Florida (US) and do not have normal access to any of those meats. lol

Lol, I'm just covering all grounds, as I originally started this challenge for specific people in Ontario, Canada, and then I saw 20 something people had joined via myfitnesspal, and I'm ecstatic to have an international challenge.

Horse is also a delicacy in France I hear lol.

We have crocodile at restaurants here too!

Curious about what to use to dress a salad?

I never dress my salads. But you can use olive oil, or lemon juice.
Or puree some fresh fruit, like raspberry or strawberry with a spinach salad, that's pretty good too.

To be successful in this challenge, you're going to have to think outside of salads, because after the first week or so, you're going to be really sick of salad.

    I think I already am--

I've been allowing too much crap (defined as simply stuff my gluten sensitive body shouldn't have-- waffles, today, for example-- gaaaah) because my mind says, "I'm starting a challenge in two weeks-- so, better get all this in."

Really working on righting that ship-- :noway:

Thanks for the reply-- I'll figure it all out.

Instead of using rice with cabbage rolls, try ricing cauliflower in the food processor. I do that whenever a recipe calls for rice. Burriots, stuffed peppers, whatever it may be!

You can do little sausage or bacon egg muffins as well with lots of vegetables, easy preparation and quick to eat in the mornings.
