Sorry to hear about your tire issues. Maybe a different set of levers is in order? I've broken lots of the plastic ones. I have a set wiht a metal tongue inside, and they havent' broke yet.

Some tires just have insanely stiff sidewalls too.

    Pedro's tire levers are 'unbreakable'.

I have two sets of them and despite having broken many levers in the past have not managed to brake these in a couple of years of heavy duty maintenance and riding.

I have also had a recent run on flats, so I feel your pain.

My single speed is not sporting pre-slimed tubes. after stranding me almost 11 miles from home on Sunday.

    I've used a £2 coin before.

Also, if you have quick release levers on the wheels/seat post, you can use those!

I have some old spoons from the cutlery drawer. The business end of the spoon tucks nicely behind the spoke while you work on the rest of the tyre. My also work well if you fancy a yoghurt or pasta pot, mid ride.

I've got puncture resistant tires on one bike and tubeless on the other. The tubeless is a new bike, so I haven't really had time to test it yet. We shall see how that works out. I got the puncture resistant after half a dozen flats in a week's time last winter. Nothing like trying to fix a flat in the cold, dark rain on the side of the road. :frown:
