3rd trimester-adding calories?

Hi Mommas! Just wondering if you added calories when you hit your 3rd trimester? I have an app on my phone that says I should be increasing, just not sure. I know it's about that time where I'm bound to start gaining weight. As of Thursday I've only gained 6.5 pounds. I just don't want to get out of control after coming so far, 27 weeks today. :-) :-)

I didn't raise mine when I hit the 3rd trimester but I do go over my calories sometimes. I have still gained what I needed to be in normal range.0

I just eat over when I am hungry but didn't add any and I am in the "normal" range for wt gain:happy:0

Same here... around 32-33 weeks I found it harder to eat very much at a time. I pretty much snack all day long... guess you could consider it 6-8 small meals. I stopped tracking because I wasn't even close to my maintenance amount.... Just listening to my body.0 -
I too did not go up but I know that if I am hungry I could eat (I do hate going over my cal and seeing red) but I am okay with it if I am truly hungry makes me ask myself if I am really hungry. For the most part I don't go over I usually wait till tomorrow and I am still working out so I still can eat over my "normal" number most days and not feel bad.
Oh and 37 weeks today.0 -
Same here - 31 weeks today and still eating at maintenance - allowing myself to go over if I feel I need to.0

I am still in the second trimester, but I've been doing the same as everyone else here -- keeping my calories set to maintenance, but eating more if I am hungry -- and I don't have any plans to change. I will only up my calories if I find myself wanting to go over on a regular basis.
I'm mostly using my log to make sure I eat enough (I get full so fast these days) and to make sure I'm getting plenty of vitamins and nutrients, not so much to keep myself from eating too much. I figure if I'm hungry, I must need to eat.
So far I have gained 3 pounds.0 -
I ate maintenence for the first trimester (2150 calories). I was easily maintaining my goal weight at that calorie goal, so I am pretty confident the numbers were good. I increased to 2250 for the second and am at 2350 now in the third. I am within the normal range for weight gain and feel great energy wise, so I think I am pretty on target with calories. I do think it is vital to eat as healthy as possible when you have an allowance this high though. I am cvareful not to under eat and would rather be eating a bit too much than not quite enough anyway.0
