Anyone taking Femara?

Options
After several unsuccessful rounds of Clomid, I had ovarian drilling and am now on my second cycle of taking Femara. Then I will be doing a trigger shot of Ovidrel. The Clomid did absolutely nothing for me. Not even a single follicle. But my first cycle after surgery we tried Femara. I got a "winner, winner, chicken dinner" from my RE at my follicle check! Then I did a trigger shot and they confirmed through bloodwork that I did ovulate and had a chemical pregnancy, so I feel like that's progress at least! Just wondered if anyone else has tried Femara and had any success. Looking forward to getting this cycle moving!

Wow! Ten years is a long time. Are you taking anything now? The Femara is definitely easier on me than the Clomid was. I had so many side effects on Clomid. The hot flashes were the worst! I've only had a headache on Femara. I took my last dose this morning. So now I just have to wait for my follicle check!

I never O'd on clomid. I've O'd on 7.5mg femara 7 times now. I O'd 3 times, took last summer off, O'd in November and conceived that ended in miscarrying twins in Dec & Jan. Then I O'd 3 more cycles and conceived the last cycle. 12w today. :) Good luck! I really like it, my RE doesn't even bother with Clomid. I also didn't have any of the nasty side effects that I had on Clomid.

only child is a clomid baby 3 cycles... Been trying for #2 for over 3 years, been on clomid for 8 months no luck, then moved to femera, only the smallest dose no luck, but we never tried higher doses, and I kinda gave up because I was tired of trying... Tell me more about your ovarian drilling? Has it helped with the PCOS? I am going to a specialist here soon for the PCOS, and then back for my yearly check up in hopes of starting femera again. I just get burnt out after a while, and it's hard to get into BD'ing when you have had enough. Good luck...

They had to bump me up to 7.5mg of Femara to get me to develop follicles. Just went in for my follicle check on Monday and had an 18. My RE had me do a trigger shot last night, so fingers crossed!

powellfam2006, the ovarian drilling has helped me respond to the meds (or at least that's what my RE says.) It could just be that I'm taking Femara now instead of Clomid. It has helped a little with the facial hair, but not a whole lot. And I haven't started any cycles on my own besides the one I had right after surgery and then one other, but I guess that's better than nothing! I'm also taking 2000mg metformin and throid meds that I'd hoped would help a little with weight loss, but no such luck. The surgery and recovery was really easy too, and luckily my insurance company (which doesn't cover anything fertility related) covered most of it because it's considered a treatment for PCOS. Woot! I have heard that they don't do it much anymore, but my RE thought it was a good option for me since I wasn't responding at all to Clomid. Hope that helps and good luck with your new doc!

you sound so very close to how things are for me. I can't lose weight to save my soul even though I am on 2000 met. One thing about Femera that was nice is it returned my cycles normal. Every 32 days like clock work, last pill I took was January, and from January to about May they were regular. Then in June, things started getting quirky again, and now I am a mess again. So good luck keep me posted, excited to here what happens. :)

Nothing yet. I have to wait an extra 5 days to test because of the booster shot! Longest "2 week wait" ever! I'll be sure to update when I test though!

So...I've been POAS crazy since my booster shot! The line got lighter till it was almost gone and then started to get darker. Today is the day the nurse at my RE's office told me I could test and I got a BFP on an IC, FRER and a CB Digi (yes I did 3 tests because I'm insane!) I'm not sure if I fully trust it yet though. It's been 12 days since my booster and 17 since my tirgger shot. I'm probably going to wait until Monday to retest before I call my RE, just to be sure. Do you think it could still be the shot, or am I really actually pregnant this time?
