Hi everyone! Things are starting to get back to normal for me... slowly but surely. In the last several weeks I have completely gotten ready for the new school year (I home-school my two children, so this is more than just buying new pens and paper. LOL). And, I am starting to really feel like I am almost back to normal. The "stupid" headaches are still around... but much more mild than right after the accident.. but since they are still here I am not doing much more than just walking. I need to reload my running app on my replacement phone so I can start logging that exercise at least. ;-)
I'm hoping that within the next week or so I have my meal-plan set up, and my husband on board. He is actually interested in doing CTL with me... which would be a first! It would be helpful if he stopped buying chips... because they are my downfall.. but really, I'm the one who should control me... so no excuses!
How is your September shaping up??? Any fitness goals? Challenges that are coming up?

Wow, our group is now at 418 members. A sure sign that everyone is getting down to business with summer being over.
I am so glad to hear from you Babeinthemoon. Hopefully with your husband joining you in CTL, he will stop brining in the chips. I know there are no excuses and we are our own to control, but it does make it easier if its not around. That's great you are still walking. Good for you. Again, I am so glad you and your family are okay.0 -

Sigh, another week has come and gone, and I'm still not back on the bandwagon. I am very glad to be able to report that my school routine is starting to mesh together nicely... so maybe this will be the week I can get back on track?
Sherrielynn20: Thanks for the wishes! We are doing well for the most part. I must sound like a broken record, but I am so surprised at how injured I am, and I was not on the "impact" side of the car when we got hit. This week has not been a good "pain" week.. but it is getting better with a massage appt, and lots of rest/heating pad time.
Terilea2: Congratz on the weight loss! You should feel awesome!!!0 -
Hi Everyone,
I joined the group and introduced myself back in August when I was going to start Chris's Choose to Loose Program but you know how it is summer bbq's, weddings and other events kept derailing me so I decided to just wait and get started after the September long weekend when things kind of got back to normal.
So here I am, Week 1/Day 3 of the Turbo Cycle and feeling good but still not 100% confident I have it all down just right yet. I am using this week as a bit of a "practice" week, see where I messed up, try to figure out my meal times, and how my low carb days compare to my high carb days in terms of grams of protein and carbs each day etc.
For the exercise portion, I haven't started doing my nine minute missions or cardio yet, as I have just been focusing on getting the food part down (always the hardest for me). Other than dog walking 3 mornings per week, I am pretty much going from no exercise at all to a 5 days/week regimen - the hardest part of that is definitely getting my butt out of bed in the morning lol. I don't have any cardio equipment at home and a gym membership really isn't in the budget at the moment so I think for now I am going to do my 9 minute missions in the morning and a Jillian Michael's exercise video in the evenings for cardio.
I am excited about the program and after two low carb days I feel good, I am not craving sweets or salty treats and while I do not have tons of energy I am not feeling exhausted or have headaches so I think this is going to work!
I don't have food quite perfect yet but it's a work in progress, I have changed my food diary to public so that if anyone wants to have a look at what I am eating - either for ideas or suggestions, it is available to you. (*I started entering properly on 9/9/13)
Good luck to everyone working through their own program, I look forward to the support and motivation that comes with being part of a group like this - it is so inspiring to hear about other peoples success and when we have a bad day it is nice to be able to reach out for encouragement and advice.
Cheers, Tetcha0 -
Hi you all.. I'm new to MyFitnessPal, and having been doing CTL for 5 weeks, my 6th week is coming up. I've been using the Veema bode app on my phone. So far in 5 weeks, i'm down 13 pounds. which is steady, but not too fast. I needed to get some type of regular exercise in, so I decided to go with Shawn T's Focus T25. It's 25 minutes a day, and all planned out so I don't have to figure something out. No equipment needed. I've finished the first week, and I can tell it's definitely helping.
As I said, I'm using the Veema app which uses the Turbo cycle. It's been ok so far.
The biggest thing I need to do is get off the diet sodas. But I hate plain water, except for when i'm truly dehydrated. I'm thinking about switching to green tea, but of course that still has the caffeine.0
