I have my first mini goal set to be down to 215, or a loss of 16.8 lbs as of my current weight. So I've decided to make Operation 60,000; goal is to burn 60,000 calories by New Years Eve to reach my goal. It is an average deficit of 475 calories a day and I think I can do this. Biggest goal is 100% accuracy in tracking calories and keep up my 5 day a week exercise habit. Just thought I would share. =)

    That is fabulous!

But you know...you don't have to worry about the accuracy of the database, as much as you have to worry about being consistent.

If you commit an hour a day to light to moderate exercise, with the occasional burst of "Give'r" a few times a week, you will achieve what you want to achieve whether the database is accurate or not.

Rather than worrying about specific burn targets, make some estimates based on whether you have achieved a glow, a sheen, or great dollops of sweat rolling down your face.

Make sure you have something fun and enjoyable planned to burn your calories around.

And finally, do you have someone to occasionally join you? Companionship and comradeship can go a long way to enhancing the burn now and again.

Keep in mind that I am not an expert, and have no business advising anyone to do anything, and I am only expressing an opinion. But I hope that opinion is being expressed in an encouraging and supportive way--because no matter what, I will be in line to cheer any successes you choose to post!

    Good logging and good luck.

I had a HRM and a Fitbit, so I'm doing okay with prediction of calorie burn. I'm just one of those that likes to have a count down and I figure if I look at in calories then a 500 calorie ice cream wont be quite as tempting. Or it could backfire, but whatever! LoL

I actually exercise at home alone. I'm weird like that, but my friend invited me to join her in a 5k in February so I may start training for that even though my brain is going "NO! Failure in front of hundreds of people is awful!"
