my heart rate monitor arrived yesterday! i got a polar FT4. im going to use it today for my work outs and I am pretty curious to see what my burn is ACTUALLY compared to what i have entered!! goodness, i hope it isnt LOWER!

    yup, its lower. my HRM says 183 cal and using MFP for circuit training general estimates 204

    Oh congrats! I've been wondering for a long time if I should get one, I can't really decide if i need it or not, and I'm definitely tight on the budget.

    I'd be curious if readings vary from day to day and by how much, so please let me know :)

    well it will vary with how much effort im putting in, thats for sure. im planning on using my elliptical for 40 minutes tonight and i will post the comparison for that.
    the one i got was $70 fyi.

    Burns vary daily doing the same activity based on your own level of intensity. Plus as you get better at activities (such as a Level in 30DS) your body will be more efficient and you will burn fewer calories even if you are putting your all into it.
