Howdy and hey...

As you might have guessed--I totally spaced on your daily challenge today.

So today you must challenge yourself.

Set yourself a DOABLE goal--then achieve it.

Feel free to do choose something easy if you just need the boost of a quick win in the middle of a long week, or, if your time and inclination permit, try something harder or something you have never tried before.

Trial or adventure--your call.

Our weight loss journeys are all about goal setting and achievement.

And like any positive behavior (or "good habit") we are trying to develop, practice not only makes perfect, but also makes second nature.

So practice some simple goal setting, then celebrate with some positive reinforcement.

Sorry to be posting late and lame today, but Real Life happens, and even I have to pay bills now and again.

Good logging and good luck.

Mark

I've been a lazy bum since Sunday... Goal today is to catch up on my yoga since I'm 3 days behind. Did 2 a few minutes ago, have 2 more to do tonight. Also, SO and I are going to take puppy on a nice river walk once the sun starts going down.

Today is DW's birthday. DS made her a cake from scratch (chocolate with chocolate frosting) of which I ate a very small triangle from the inside end of the slice. ( I have read frosting causes dumping for those of us who have been surgically modified. Don't want to go there.)

My victory was limiting myself to that tiny piece. The real victory was realizing it didn't hold the appeal it used too. Must try to remember that!

Code: DW = Dear Wife, DS = Dear Son

I'm moving into some daunting territory (for me) in my workouts. Today was 150 lb on the overhead press. I saw this thread before my evening workout, and I wasn't quite sure if I could make 3 sets of 5, but it was my goal.

Achievement unlocked. Next stop: 200 lb press.
  • Today I didn't quit my job! Wednesday a success!

I just seen this now and I am already in bed but this morning I decided to have a lighter day as I am eating out tomorrow and I did that with a 600 calorie deficit after exercise and about 6 cups of crystal light instead of soda! Ya I only had 2 sodas today and they were both caffeine free! I am trying to break myself!

My today goal wasn't a very exciting one, it was to drink at least 8 glasses of water, because I have been slacking on that lately. And I exceeded that! Yay, me! :) And yay everyone who had great successes today too :)

    M23prime, Mark,

You are never lame! Great challenge.

I clipped my last two toes on my right foot hitting the coffee table at 7am on Monday. I felt like crying and throwing up all day. I had to adjust my workout and do a light one in bare feet because shoes were too painful. I was panicky, not knowing how long it would take to heal.

It was very calming knowing I had my MFP buddies to help me overcome this obstacle. All of you are such an inspiration!

Yesterday (Wednesday) I was able to put on shoes and get in a good burn session. My foot is still stiff and purple, but much better.

Thank you for all you do!

I predict we will see Givens doing Hanes commercials in the future.

Working your way to ripped! I read your posts, sigh and keep plodding; "Someday Mr. Chunky may come close to this."

    Your work ethic is inspirational.

BTL, way to carry on. Just don't overdo the foot. You have to heal. Can you do upper body workouts more often so it heals faster? (Don't stop your workouts on lower body altogether, just reduce them a bit?) You know your body best, so listen to it, and Great Job!

Holly, I would lol, but some days quitting the job just seems to make sense!

Cary, repeat the mantra, "Water is good, water is our friend" Repeat and believe! ;-)
  • Wow BTL you should be so proud that you didn't opt out all together bruised toesare painful!
Cary: I struggle with water so I know what a success that is!! Great job!
Givens: I can't even imagine how proud you must of been! You are an inspiration!

I didn't quit on the spot but I think it's time for me to move on from my job. My family wants to move out of the city anyway my husbands work is already 2 hours away from our home, so maybe life is telling me I need a switch!..... I might even dare to dream that if I could get into shape I could challenge the exams and get back into the ambulance.

BTL - I literally feel your pain, but probably not as bad. I did the same thing on the corner of my bathtub on Monday morning (3 hours sleep for the previous weekend). I was fortunate enough to be able to still go walking that morning, but my foot is still not 100%. Good on you for getting back in the saddle!

dward - Keep pushing yourself in your training, a little more each session, and I have no doubt that, barring medical reasons, you WILL get there. You've lost over 100 pounds, man! That kind of determination doesn't exist in a vacuum, period.
