I know the new Felts are headed out soon. The new Treks are on the way out too. Of course I ride tri bikes and they normally try to have them out around Kona time which is in a month. IIRC the markdowns start mid October?
Cervelos are great bikes. I'd put them in the running for best bikes for the $ they charge you. The pic you posted has Ultegra grouping and a Rotor crank. Great value when you consider most companies would slap an FSA crank on there and be on their way.0 -
My tri bike is a Cervelo. I have a couple of very minor, very nit-picky complaints about the paint quality, but the bike itself is pretty great. I also rented a Cervelo road bike (I believe the predecessor to the one you posted) and was very please with it. I put about 80 miles on it over 2 rides during a vacation last year.
IMO, they offer a lot of bike/quality/R&D for the money. They don't offer bikes at anything resembling an entry level price point, which can be a problem for some... but if they've got something in your price range, it's probably going to be a good as anything else at a similar price point.
As for markdowns...
Living where I do, we have a very clear bike season, so initial markdowns start popping up around the end of July and continue from there. Big mark downs happen during the winter when no one is riding AND the new models have been released.0 -
You get what you pay for on Cervelo - which is a lot. Cervelo had some issues here and there but you see that with all companies time to time. Overall, the bikes are well-built and of exceptional (aero) design. IMHO the best bikes out there. I love Specs but not the same way.
Not sure about the 13 clearance. Ask your LBS and they'll know for sure. Considering Cervelo is a LBS-only brand, they'll be more than happy to let you know when to come buy one
My next bike WILL be a Cervelo. I really enjoyed custom building my last bike but the OEM stuff on Cervelo's S5 Rival setup is hard to beat. I'd still strip the Rival stuff and replace with SRAM 22, though  . Add some clip-on aero bars. Mmmm...if I only had the $$$ right now. If I saw it on clearance, I'd probably buy it money or not.0 -
I'm on the Wait Train, too. The 2014 CAADs are out in Europe, but don't see them in North America yet. In particular, waiting on the CAADX Disc Tiagra (unless excess stock of '13 Disc Ultegras come with nice markdowns).0

"The prices are $2,600 for the 105 and $3,900 for the Ultegra. The only differences are wheels (Shimano RS501 vs. Fulcrum Racing 5.5), deraileaurs, shifters, brakes, and cranks are upgraded from FSA BBright to Rotor 3DF. "
I was looking at the cheaper 105 model... I got to say the Wheelset on the Ultegra model look real nice.
People are saying for the price difference you could eventually do your own upgrades and do much better.
I'm not sure I can swing the Ultergra or its even worth it. :indifferent: :indifferent:
IDK, I just need a legit road bike to take my cycling to the next level.
I've totally outgrown my bike as far as gearing and weight. time to move on, mid priced R3 just makes sense.0 -
This week is the Interbike 2013 show ( http://www.interbike.com/show-info/show-overview.htm ) thus in North America it is the end of the 2013 Season. I know that in the last month both Trek and Raleigh were discounting their 2013 models. I'd say that about now is the time for a good discount on a 2013 model.
Have you developed a good relationship with your local Cervelo dealer? Such a relationship with my local Raleigh dealer has turned into an unspoken sponsorship on nutrients, huge discounts on Raleigh bikes, and a great riding partner (My LBS owner).
A good friend does a steady business with his local Trek store and since his pockets are deeper than mine he feels like the deals they cut him as a loyal customer are worthwhile.
From what I've seen of Cervelo, I really, really like their bikes but my LBS's deals on Raleighs will keep loyal to them for some time to come.0 -

Unless you're primary function is going to be racing I don't see a reason to go with the Ultegra package. I love Rotor cranks, especially with Qrings on them, but for the casual rider they are not necessary by any means.0 -

The 105 bike is more than sufficient. I love love love fulcrum wheels, but the shimanos are just fine. Cranks are a nice upgrade, but don't make much difference to the average rider. Derailleurs and brakes are almost disposable - fairly cheap, fairly easy to upgrade, so no reason to pay extra for those at this point.
I say go with the 105 bike.0 -

Ask, and you shall receive. The 2014s have gone live at Cannondale (in North America, they were already on offer in Europe). Looking at this one as my new ride...
