Psalm 78:1-7
Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
One of Asaph’s maskils.
78 My people, listen to my teachings.
Listen to what I say.
2 I will tell you a story.
I will tell you about things from the past that are hard to understand.
3 We have heard the story, and we know it well.
Our fathers told it to us.
4 And we will not forget it.
Our people will be telling this story to the last generation.
We will all praise the Lord
and tell about the amazing things he did.
5 He made an agreement with Jacob.
He gave the law to Israel.
He gave the commands to our ancestors.
He told them to teach the law to their children.
6 Then the next generation, even the children not yet born, would learn the law.
And they would be able to teach it to their own children.
7 So they would all trust in God,
never forgetting what he had done
and always obeying his commands.
What is a testimony? Some believers think that it’s just a brief account of the way God has worked in their life. While that may be true, our testimony is much more than simply a short story.
One important aspect of our testimony is our character, which should include a spirit of obedience. Do we follow God’s instruction on occasion but ignore Him the rest of the time? An obedient spirit follows His guidance, no matter what. At times our actions may outwardly display obedience, but nobody except God knows what lies within our heart. He sees our true character, and it should line up with the story we tell others to glorify Him.
Our conduct—in other words, what we do—is another facet of our testimony. If what we say conflicts with our behavior, then we cloud our witness, and unbelievers may consider us hypocritical or doubt the genuineness of our faith. The way we act should confirm who we are in Christ.
Finally, a third part of our testimony is our conversation. As Psalm 107:2 says, “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” This gives us an opportunity to tell others what God is doing in our lives. Our words can be significant to an unbeliever who doubts the existence of God or the divinity of Christ.
When our character, conduct, and conversation fail to match who we are in Christ, we hamper our ability to reach others with the gospel. A testimony can make the difference between doubt and faith in the life of an unbeliever. How authentic is your personal testimony?

Our testimony is who we are - who we really. If you talk it but don't walk it we are a living lie. If we believe then we must live our lives like we believe or our testimony (our story) is like batting against a brick wall.0

Hello Zee,
I am here, and enjoyed reading this first post on Psalms. I see these are all dated so I will begin to read the latest first each day. I may not always comment, but I do love to say something to let folks know their sharing isn't going to waste. I need all of God I can get, all the time I can possibly spend with Him so this being on mfp is a blessing as I mentioned before. Thank you gals so much,
a sister in Christ, denise
PS I just wanted to tell you I am so excited about all I am reading in the Word. No time to share a lot, but I can tell you I started in Joshua I think 3 weeks ago, and now I am into the first 2-3 chapters of 1 Samuel. I am amazed all the Lord is teaching me since most of the Word has come from pastors or others sharing since I've been saved in 93. At last I realized I knew "about" God, but I did not really know Him myself, one on one;) :blushing:0 -
my testimony is long and boring...but I will try to make this comment as short and sweet as possible...my life consists of one miracle after another:
I shouldn't have even lived through my birth
Age 12 got saved and baptized --- long story
Age 16 had a blood transfusion (when they didn't test blood for AIDS and such) and survived
Age 18 lived through a childhood of all 4 types of abuse (mental, physical, emotional, sexual)
Age 19 got married to the best man in the whole world (he got saved and baptized right after the wedding)
Age 20 first child was born
Age 25 second child was born
Age 35 had my mental illness break through and surface to help others with their mental illnesses --- long story
Age 42 had surgery called Duodenal Switch --- long story
Age 43 had left ovary removed because of mass --- 9" mass should have killed me --- long story
That's it in a nutshell. If you would like to know more about a specific age miracle send me a private message, and I will tell you the long story of it. LOL.
Thanks Zee for the opportunity to give my life testimony thus far.0
