Let me give you a brief background first. I have completed 2 5ks 2 10ks and getting ready to run my third 10k This weekend. I have been following the Hal Higdon Novice 2 training program. Last week I completed my 7 mile run. Now here are my questions.

1. I have already signed up for a Half Marathon the date is March 1st 2014.
2. I decided to start training early and possibly do the Half Marathon training twice.
3. The first 12 week training program I will complete it on November Thursday 27th. On December 8th there is the Hot Chocolate race and last year I ran the 5k this year I want to run the 15k. Do you think it is a good idea to run this race after completing the half marathon training. I am not going for time, this race is just fun.
4. On December 10th which will be a Tuesday I will start my Half Marathon training again, That Tuesday will only be a 3 mile run and I will take it easy.
5. By starting the training again December the 10th I should be done (last week being taper week ) the week of February 24 and my Half Marathon is Saturday 1st.

How does this sound to you? in my head it sounds good but I just want to make sure I am making the right decisions.

Any suggestions and or comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I'm FAR from an expert but I don't see anything wrong with this. I ran my first half marathon last December 1 and ran my second at the end of February. I can't think of any reason not to run a 15K and then train for a half. I think Higdon's plans have you running races during the training anyway.
