I did this online-body-fat-estimation and it came out at about 30%. Maybe more. You can't know for sure just by putting your measurements in, right? I have a lot of quite-loose skin. Have been trying some at home exercises, like squats, sit-ups, supermanś - which are great just because of there name. :) But I have a feeling this is no way near enough.! D: If I really want to lose about 5-7% body fat, I need to work harder?

Arghh so many I ś in that paragraph, sorry about that. D:

What are your experiences? / What do you know about this?

Many thanks in advance,
Have lovely days/nights. :)

Doing any sort of dedicated strength training will help (lifting weights or doing bodyweight exercises) , and also Cardio!

Cardio seems to be the ugly step-child on MFP but it's helped with my body fat tremendously.

Look up body weight or street workouts online (its close to what you're already doing) and start walking/jogging/running.

Having a healthy mix of both is what works best for me.

About your body fat % online: No, it's not accurate HOWEVER it is a good guideline. Once or twice a month re-enter your numbers into the same calculator and see if they're moving down.
  • Not an expert by far, but if there is a specific area that is loose or flabby, find 3 or 4 exercises that target that area and add a 15 minute mini workout to cardio and strength training for 30 days and see if it does the trick.
Experiment with a few exercises until you find 3 or 4 that you feel work best for your body and stick with them...I am betting you will have success, or at least I hope so.
If you like the results add 30 more days or target another area, there are 12 months in a year:drinker:

Strength training and cardio, 3x a week each, is what I did to drop from 25% body fat to 16%. Mind you I also ate a TON of protein, virtually zero carbs (absolutely no bread, rice, etc). Ended up being somewhat too strict to maintain indefinitely, and keeping up the protein intake is a lot harder now that I'm vegan.

Short answer, lift heavy things (do compound exercises that use multiple large muscle groups at once, don't bother with bicep curls and the like), run. :)
