I'm curious as to where everyone is from? I'm from the uk, north east side from a littke town called Hartlepool which is famous for hanging a monkey.

What breed of horse the own/ride? I own a thoroughbred called jack daniels who is 11yr old and an ex racer.

What style of riding? English but I can ride western.

And anything else you might want to add

I am from the Northwest GA area of the U.S. just outside of a couple of different towns - LaFayette and Chickamauga. I am owned by a Paint, a TB/QH cross and a paint/TW cross.
Up until recently I always rode western but I have acquired and english saddle that I LOVE!
I haven't ridden my horses in over 6 months because life has gotten in the way which sux.

I'm from New Hampshire (USA). I just started back up with myfitnesspal and was thrilled to find a horse group here! I have a 8 year old TB that came off the track last fall. Hoping to get back into eventing (I had an arab who I owned for 28 years, until his death last year, and who I evented back when we were both much younger). We also have a 13 year old standardbred that my daughters ride - she's a sweetheart and great with my 11 year old.

I'm from WI, known for Cheese and The Packers!! I have one horse she is a paint, and we trail ride all over the midwest. We have been to IN, KY, TN, AL, IL, MN, MI, and of course WI. My goals are little ride two times a week, workout two times a week, and eat one vegetable a day. Start small. :)

    I'm from Scotland :)

I currently have a lovely loan pony, a dark bay Welsh Section D X called Monty.I ride English and we are currently working on our jumping, I'm hoping to compete in some unaffiliated showjumping competitions next year.
  • Hi all, I'm from the south coast of the uk, my name is Nikki and I have two horses, one of those gorgeous piebald irish cobs, 15hh, very heavyweight and stocky with two blue eyes, he's 14 now and I've had him 13 years, my second is a chestnut Irish Draught x warmblood x American Paint who is 6 years old and stands 16hands approx. She's a lot more dainty than my boy, but not so well schooled yet. I ride English, have tried Western but I'm mpre comfortable with what I know. My passions are dressage, working equitation and endurance riding.

I've been on MFP since August and need to lose another 20lbs or so to be able to start riding again. Great to see more horsey people on here!

My name is Mindy. I live in Colleyville, TX. It's just NE of Fort Worth, still in Tarrant County. I have two horses, both are Paints. My mare's name is Dixie, she is a sorrel overo (my profile pic) and I also have a gelding named Lonesome. He is a tobiano palomino. Although I have shown Lonesome, Dixie is my show pony. I show primarily western but have been known to enter an english class or two. Dixie and I just started showing western dressage. I have a bunch of ribbons (that I have won over MANY years) - mostly red, yellow, some white, pink, and green... but NO blue, until now. We won our first Western Dressage class. :) I can't tell you how amazed I was when they handed me that ribbon. I was so proud of both of us. My mare is a rock star and gives her all in the arena, on the trail, anywhere. I LOVE that horse. I owned her as a weanling and then circumstances forced me to sell her when she was 4. I accidentally found her for sale on the internet and brought her home a few months ago. She is 12 now.

I really want to excel in WD but I can't do that if I am fat and out of shape. I have been on MFP for a few years now and still have about 75 - 80 lbs to go.

    Hi all!

I'm 1 hour SE of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

    I currently have 3 TB's -
    George, 17.2hh 24yo retired eventer
Charlie, 15.3hh 26yo retired show jumper
    Sparrow, 9yo 16.2hh eventer

I have my own property which means endless poopa scooping, sweeping, raking, etc. Never a dull moment (or holiday! ).

I ride Sparrow aka Spaz 5-6 days a week, and compete most weekends. Comps are few and far between in winter, so we head to a local indoor 1-2 times a week, and ride at home in my own arena the other days.

It's just coming into summer here now (30-40 degrees centigrade most of the time in summer! ), so have to ride either before work or just before dark to beat the heat.

I've been riding since I was 3, and only took a year off at 18 to quite literally run off with the circus. The horses bought me back - couldn't resist!

Having the horses means constant hard work and exercise, but I think my bodies used to it, which means I have to do more exercise to get rid of some weight. I'm 64kg, but my perfect weight is 55kg.

I'm from Southwest Missouri, USA. About halfway between Springfield and Joplin. Haven't ridden in years, but am looking to take it up again. Did mostly ranch work and no competitions when I rode.

Grew up on a beef cattle operation and used horse fairly often. I have a brother who has competed in roping and rodeo most of his life and so I have access to his string of horses and facilities.

I have a Masters in agriculture and worked in the feed industry for part of my career. I have taught secondary agriculture for about 16 years.

I'm from Western Australia (and I hear you ukunbanshee, our forecast for the next few days is consistently over 40 - that's 104 in old Fahrenheit you lot from the USA!!). We live in what is known as the Wheatbelt: 300mm annual rainfall, so it's pretty much the desert (and I used to live in Devon, UK, so moving here was a bit of a shcok!).
    I own 6 horses (eek):
Angel, 20 year old cremello Connemara mare (unregistered as they don't allow double dilutes). Stubborn as a mule, wide as a barn, but UTTERLY trustworthy for packing my 10 year old daughter around.
Mojo, 10 year old Welsh B, aka Asshat one. Cheeky fast pony, well suited to my cheeky speed loving 8 year old daughter.
Joe aka Asshat two. 8 year old Palomino Arab cross gelding. Always in trouble with asshat one (see above). He and I do endurance: we did 5 50 mile rides last year and have our eyes set on a 100 miler this year (hence the weight loss and running programme!)
Prycie, 12 year old off the track Standardbred who I learned about endurance on. Now packs my novice husband around on trail rides.
Savannah, 8 year old "mutt". Arab X Welsh X Stockhorse (probably). Lady of leisure mostly, but will eventually be for one of the girls.
Faith: 5 weeks old buckskin Arabian derivative and my next endurance horse (as my younger daughter will steal Joe as soon as she is big enough!).

NIce to see a little more activity here! I'm from Wisconsin near Eau Claire. I have 2 horses - a palomino QH mare and a black Arabian gelding. 2014 is my debut into the endurance riding sport, which is a big reason why i'm here - I need to lose weight for us to be more competitive and keep him sound & healthy.

Feel free to add me a s a friend!!

    No Californian's?

I'm from central CA and enjoy trail riding and pack trips. Would love to get into team penning/sorting and gymkhanas.

Family combined, we own 9 horses, but personally, I have 3. All of my guys were rescues of some sort.

Bandit: PMU Percheron cross, 8 years old, gray.

Dominic: WA Rez mustang pony, 14? years, sorrel.

Bullet: Appaloosa, black leopard, 4 years old, and my main project right now. He's a little on the small side and I'm REALLY hoping he fills out more. Which that is also more motivation to loose weight. he is just SO awesome, it would really suck if I am always going to look too big on him.

    Hi!
Also from the good 'ol USA. Massachusetts!! I have 2 horses for now. A 24 yo Morgan x draft "The Great Waldo Pepper", aka Doh for short. He is the love of my life and the sweetest guy in the world. I also have a 30 yo mare who is a morgan x Shire. She is also amazing. I got her as a companion for Doh. She was neglected and almost 300 lbs underweight. Her previous owner was feeding her 1 scoop of rabbit pellets a day!
I'm happy to say that she is fat and sassy now, and can outrun any of the thoroughbreds on Salibury Beach! She is a lot of fun, and I free lease her to a friend in return for paddock cleaning. I am strictly Western trail riding. No shows but I will join in any trail ride within 200 miles!
I just traveled 4 hours into VT to get a Percheron, who decided he wouldnt load. Four hours back with an empty trailer! I will get a Percheron someday. Black :)
Looking forward to chatting with you all!
    Trish
