Slow Release Metformin and Stomach Problems

I started normal Metformin which messed up my stomach so the doc out me on SR Metformin telling me to take 500mg per day for a month then up to 1000mg .. I did my first 4 weeks and was absolutely fine, I have just upped the dosage and I am feeling very nauseated & having really bad diahorrea .. do I persevere with it?? will it stop?? I'm considering maybe slowing increasing my dosage e.g. take 1000mg one day, then 500mg the next? just wondering what people's thoughts/personal experiences were? ANY help will be majorly appreciated!!!

    Keep taking it! It will go away, you just have to give it time. I am doing the same thing and feel sick. What will help with the diarrhea is watching what you eat though. Try to eat low carb and low GI that will help with the bubblies lol. Also always eat when you take it, if you don't/cant drink milk with it, it helps!!!!
