My first day on My Fitness Pal

Just joined today! Looking for friends & support through this journey. I suffer from chronic migraines, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, depression and social anxiety. Every since I got sick 7 years ago I have gotten in real bad shape physically and now weigh 200 lbs. I am not active at all and have gotten to the point that most of my time is spent sitting or laying down. Since I no longer work (am on SS Disability) I have drifted away from the friends I had and have also gotten divorced. Due to social anxiety problems I can't seem to get myself to the point that I can go out and meet people. How I feel about myself physically doesn't help that.

I would love to get to know some people who are in similar situations as far as health problems and how that affects them being able to exercise. Thanks for letting me join your group!

    You could be a long lost twin that I didn't know about. Up until a few months ago I was in the same position. I started going to an arthritis foundation water excercize class that takes place at our local YMCA. Even though I don't really like being around too many people I came to appreciate my fellow classmates. I think it is because they are peers. As one woman puts it "we all hurt and that's why were here". Being around people who understand because they are in the same boat can be very supportive. But the real difference came from strengthening my muscles by exercising in the water. When I first started and realized all the things I can do in the water that I can't on land I wished I could live in a pool. If you wish, check out my profile.
