Had to share the pain, the push, and the triumph. Some of the photos are truly moving and a good source of motivation...even without words.

Wait a minute. What about number 71, 80-year-old Roger Aiken, of Falcon Heights, MN. The photo caption does not give his time, but he finished, obviously, and no one was helping him and he looks pretty strong still.
There was a guy with some kind of muscular disorder who finished the Chicago Marathon this weekend. It took him 16 hours, but he finished. It took him so long he did not get a medal. His friends had to award him a finishers' medal. The Chicago Tribune did a story about him.

They are pretty awesome too. As was the wookie. Helping along the newbies and injured always touches me the most. The rest of it is just inspiring.

I am so humbled! All the different ages and sizes of the runners are amazing!

I'm currently reading "Marathoning for Mortals" right now, and it is a wonderful book for anyone at any stage of their training to read through. I highly recommend it.

Thank you for sharing these photos!

    Thanks for sharing.

Seeing these images stirred a whole set of emotions inside of me that I did not expect as I prepare to run my first half this week-end.

Anyone else feel like they're going to be a lot more self conscious when crossing finish lines after looking through these?

    Very cool photo project idea.
