Peer pressure - finally!

In January, I had a couple of training sessions with a group that's run by John Loftus. They fly. Average age is 15+ years younger and they were training up for Boston. I was coming off a injury and, in a conversation with John about an upcoming race on March 2, 2013, John told me "Doug, the Surf City race is on February 3, 2013"

I had typoed 3/2/13 when it should have been 2/3/13.

Their pace was too high for me (and they ran hills that would make a billy goat blush) so I saw little reason to return to the training group.

John was trim, the right size (you 5' X" guys do have an advantage!) but he said that he'd only returned to running a few years before.

I looked up John's stats.

Unbelievable.

hmm....I can't figure that part out..it returns zero rivals.

Hmmm...maybe you just haven't run multiple races against the same people? That seems to be how it works, anyone who I have run 2 or more races against shows up in my rivals with a win/loss thing.
