I watched this last night and it was so sad and horrifying what they have been through. Despite having around 13 stone to lose, I have always been determined not to have any surgery for the very reason that I feared something might go wrong. I am sure that most of the time it is a success, but I just could not and cannot take the risk. So I am doing it the slow way, one pound at a time, and have managed to lose 2 stone so far. What did you think of the programme?

I watched it and just thought why didnt they try first? Its so risky and these stories prove it. Anything can go wrong. Iv read stories of people who are now dangerously underweight and cant gain weight at all because their stomachs were damaged so much due to the surgery.
I saw a documentary recently o the bbc iplayer about obesity in young people in india and there were 13 yr olds having gastric bands.
I felt so sorry for the people in the c5 documentary, some had such serious medical issues and its terrible that its affected them so much in a negative way
