Knee Pain?

My weights on my squats are up to 175lbs, so pretty heavy. I can get all the way through each set just fine but I've noticed the past two times that afterwards, my knees hurt. It usually shows up hours after. I've found that I'll wake up in the middle of the night from them hurting. The pain is in the back of my leg but behind my knee. I've made sure my knees aren't going over my toes and my form is spot on. After about two days the pain goes away though. So maybe its sore muscles? I've never had this happen. Anybody else had any experience with this?

Can you film your sets for a form check? Preferably from the front and side. Are you doing mobility work?0

Unless you have an extremely wide squat stance, your knees are most likely going to go over your toes when you squat. The position of the barbell on your back/keeping the barbell over the middle of the foot is the determining factor in this. For example, with a high bar squat your back will be straighter and therefore your knees will be over your toes more so then with a low bar squat. So that said, I doubt that's the issue.
Post a video and we'll check it out. Soreness after a workout is okay; pain is not.
BTW - I'm just up the road from you in Castle Rock.0 -
I'll try and get some videos this weekend. My lifting partner just came back from Afghanistan last week so I'm stoked to have him back in the gym with me.
Fittreelol - mobility work? please enlighten me. lol
Leadfoot_Lewis - That's awesome! I've chatted with people on here from my hometown, which is back in NC, but to my surprise, haven't encountered too many from Colorado, let alone around my area! 'What gym do you use up there?0 -

I lived down in the Springs for 3 years. As far as a gym, I actually train @ home which I love.0 -
I technically live in Fountain but I like it here. There are some times where I would like to move somewhere a little more rural considering their building everything in Fountain now but gotta go where the jobs are. lol I tried doing Insanity at home and only made it through like a week. I get bored working out at home. Maybe it would be different if I had weights and the whole get up but cardio wise, I just give up. Would rather sit on my couch and eat all day. lol0

Mobility work= the simple answer is drills to make you more mobile! It can include foam rolling, dynamic stretching, and also strengthening of small muscle groups (think rotator cuff).0

Hmmm. Everyone raves about the foam roller. They say it hurts so good. lol I usually stretch in between my sets so that everything doesn't get all bunched up but I'll definitely add some of this in and see if that helps.0
