Confused about how many cals I need.

On the into it says you need maintenance calories + 200-300 extra in the 2nd and 3rd trimester.

On here my BMR is calculated at 1300calories which doesn't seem very many? Is that my maintenance calories? Even adding on 300 cals to that isn't a huge amount and I am doing lots of walking/pilates.

I ate 1925 calories today which included a lot of fruit/veg and good food. I burned just under 200 exercising. Am I eating too many cals according to what I should be?

(I'm 19 weeks)

BMR isn't your maintenance. If you set MFP to "gain 1/2 lb per week" you'll get your maintenance plus 250. If you want to do the math yourself, there are a lot of pregnancy websites that will give you their own formulas.

What I do is set it to maintenance and eat more if I feel like I need more :)

I ended up meeting with a nutritionist and she has me eating 1800-1900 per day. Once I'm breastfeeding (in just a couple weeks!) I'm to add another 200-300 calories.

My current exercise schedule isn't very intense....walking, some yoga/stretching....I don't log it and I don't "eat it back".

(MFP has me at 2040 for maintenance, so I'd think setting it at maintenance will get you pretty close to where you should be.)

    Thank you both.
Have set it to maintenance so will stick with that, is now in the 1900 range which sounds much more realistic compared to the 1300 I thought!!
