    I have a few ideas for the next book... do any sound good to you guys? Or anything else?

    "The Book Thief" - Markus Zusak (being released as a movie later this month!)
    "The Light Between Oceans" - M.L. Stedman
    "The Night Circus" - Erin Morgenstern

    Today, Amazon has free for kindle Write About Me - by Melissa Jane Poulliot

    I thought it might be an inspiring read for a future selection if anyone wanted to download it. :)

    Titles I would love to see us tackle as a group:

    The Bean Trees (Greer Family, #1) by Barbara Kingsolver ( My new favorite author, I just finished the poisonwood bible, and I highly reccomend it!)

    The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman (I just love the way he writes fantasy and people.)

    The Shifting Fog by Kate Morton ( She is my new favorite master of the plot twist, and has a lovely lyrical style. I would classify her genre as mystery/romance/historical.)

    The House of Sand and Fog by Andre Dubus (a book that a co-worker has given me, and tells me is a 'dark read')

    I would also be interested in reading The Book Theif, as a previous poster mentioned. It's actually been on my list for quite some time now.

    I wouldn't mind trying out "The Thousand Faces of Night" by Jack Higgins at some point; I would like to do something else this month since our last book is a "crime" type book though! Keep that on our list for the future!

    "The Shifting Fog" and "The Bean Trees" also appeal to me! Anyone like these ideas?

    The Bean Trees sounds really good. Didn't find the Shifting Fog on Amazon or the library web site. Will keep looking for it.

    I agree a different genre each month would be a good idea.

    How odd that Amazon wouldn't have it.
    Another Kate Morton book would be just as good. So far I have not been disappointed.

    I also love the idea of different genres :)

    I'll try to do the next book. Last 4 weeks i was busy with my new appartment so no time to read, but i am settled in now so have more time for it

    I have read every thing King's done: hubby is a rabid fan, so reading him is a marital requirement :) I highly highly recommend 11-22-63. That's the best thing he's done in years, and I could not put it down. No hard feelings here if y'all ever want to tackle king, I'll use it as an excuse to catch up! ;)

    I too have read all of King's books, as well as Joe Hill's, who is also very similar. (King's son)
    He is in my top 5 favorite Authors of all time, so everything must be read the moment it hit's the store :)

    Lol, that's the way Steve is. And he's just recently discovered Joe Hill and is catching up there. He told me I might not like J.H., I enjoy horror, but not too scary? I know, I'm a wimp. I feel I've matured a lot though, Walking Dead is my very favorite tv show... prior to watching that, I'd never seen a zombie flick in my life.

    I do have to frequently go outside in the woods after dark. If Steve makes me read King, then it's his fault if he has to come with me with a flashlight and a big stick! lol

    OK - I'm proposing Stephen King, Dean Koontz or "The Bean Trees"! Let me know what you all think and we can get started :happy:

    ETA:

    If we pick King or Koontz, someone has to pick a book, though!

    Since King and Koontz would probably be similar to Light of the World, let's go with The Bean Trees

    Sounds good to me, too. I've already found it on Kindle :) I have 1 chapter left in LOTW, will finish tonight!

    Sounds good. We can do a Stephen King or Koontz book next time! Downloading "The Bean Trees" soon!
