Salad Bar

I remember when Smugglers Inn wasn't the ONLY PLACE in the whole city where there would be a salad bar! Society is coming down on the obese (like yours truly) and the overweight yet we keep everyone "fat and happy" with our crappy food choices outside of our own kitchens! I tried to google a salad bar in the city and didn't find ONE. Any of my fellow Calgarians know of a good haunt that's apparently unheard of?? Does it frustrate you to dine out with the lack of healthy choices?? Thoughts?

The Chopped Leaf .. That's a new one on me!
I'm in the SE/NE close to Marlborough Mall so I'm not sure where Royal Oak is..
I googled for the location and all it says is comming soon. Any chance you would happen to know the address??
Thanks!0 -
Here is the fb page. It's in the extreme NW so pretty far from you.

Chuck E Cheese as a salad bar, hehe, ok jokes aside.
I think it depends on the salad bar becuase not all are created equal.
Shannon's place in royal oak sounds neat, something I would try out -- but yes its by COP/end of Country Hills BLVD so very far from you
When I eat out I tend to stick to places that have healthy menus if I need to be good (I do have cheat meals and don't care) but Boston Pizza is one... they have a wide range of chicken salads (280 cals) to salmon, to steak, to calzone type things... all on the healthy menu and I think all are under 550cals
I think it's just being informed before you go. Try to pick the lean meats, don't eat all the carb, get alot of veggies/salad and have the dressing on the side. Wouldn't be the easiest to track but I think healthy choices can be made.

Honestly, I was shocked by the "healthy" menu at BP's. I gotta give them some props as they did make a menu that could fit into my diet (with the correct tweaking, as you stated here)!!
I think I'll have to start my own business..Chuck E Cheese as a salad bar, hehe, ok jokes aside.

Chopped leaf is AMAZING!!! I used to live in Kelowna and we would go there all the time. The soup is excellent, and the salads are to die for. They have a list of pre-made ones but you can design them however you want with pretty much whatever you want. The one in Kelowna also offered infused water (normally cucumber or strawberry)!!! You should definitely try it out!!!0
