Prayer: Almighty God, Open my eyes that I might see. Open my mind that I might understand. Open my heart that I might make your words a part of me. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in your sight.

4 From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members?
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

PRAYER: Dear God, The song, “Humble Thyself” is humming in my head, for if we humble ourselves before you, you will lift us up. Help us Lord. We want to be humble but we don’t want to learn to be humble. Empower us to be as you would have us be. In Jesus name. Amen.

Advent day 2: Knowing I need Him, it's not about me.... Turning from my sin in love for Him means I do love me for what He is asking gives me the best life.0

1. What causes quarrels and what causes fights among you?
2. You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.
3. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
INTERPRETATION:
What do you interpret these verses to mean for you today?
The desires of the world, keeps you from relying on the Lord.
APPLY
Today, I learned _ love the Lord enough to rely on Him instead of myself__and apply it to my life.
