Crossfit Pregnancy

Hello Pals,
After struggling through the first (and worst) 3 months of pregnancy fighting nausea, fatigue, and overall ickyness, i thought I was over the hard hump. Then I found out my placenta was on my cervix and i was put on NO WORKOUTS AT ALL instructions for 2 months... now, at 5 months , everything is cleared up and I got the ok to work out again. Today was my first day back at crossfit.. and it felt amazing!!! I thought after sitting on my *kitten* for 2 months I would be super out of shape, but the body remembers I know I will be extremely sore tomorrow and have zero intention of pushing myself too hard or going my usual 5x a week for a bit, but it was so nice to be back at the box. My group was so excited to have me, and while I was gone, they threw me a baby shower and constantly checked up on me... This is why I love crossfit. You always feel like family.
Anyway I just want to let everyone know if you have a bad week or have to take some time off, you CAN jump right back on that horse (slowly)
By the way this is my 2nd pregnancy and I did work out the entire time for my first, so I am 100% listening to my body and dr orders in case anyone is concerned about safety.

You womens get a little crazy when you are preggers !
My wife jogged and played tennis throughout her entire pregnancies, even though I thought it was not a very good idea.
But, of course, you know that there have been studies showing that exercise during pregnancy may be good for a child's intelligence . . .

Wow I am so so so glad I read this. I'm 24 and not in a relationship at the moment but crossfit has been such a huge part of my life for over 2 years, now training 8-9 times a week, and every now and then I get this horrible thought that if/when I end up having kids I'll have to stop training while pregnant and that thought makes me incredibly sad!! So I am very happy to read that you're still training!! Hope everything goes well for you from here on out0

^did you miss the controversy a few months back when a Crossfitter who was 8 months pregnant posted pictures of herself doing ATG squats?
She had a perfectly healthy baby, btw0 -
I just saw a video online the other day of a woman 37 weeks pregnant doing a muscle up. She and her husband (owners of a box) had a bet going regarding when she'd lose her muscle up, and she figured it would be around 20 weeks or so. The last one she did (the video that was posted) was a couple of days before she delivered a healthy baby.
We women have been having babies for eons, and have only relatively recently been afforded the luxury of largely sedentary lives.0 -

Yup. I'm pretty sure that on the plains of Africa, women didn't have the option to sit in an easy chair and relax while pregnant. If they couldn't carry their weight (and the baby's) they probably got left behind0 -
Thanks all! Women def should keep going! I think the only difference for me was that I did have issues that could have led to a miscarrage if I didnt stop but after 2 months it fixed itself . It's def hard getting back into Crossfit after a 2 month basically bed rest and starting back at 5 months , but it can be done! I'm probably more sore than I have ever been in my life but in a month should be ok lol0
