Traveling

Tomorrow I will be traveling for the first time since my surgery - going to NY for my little brother's wedding! When I started making plans to go I made sure I planned for my food situation too. My sister in NY already went to Trader Joe's for me and bought me some cans of Pure Protein, and I plan to take some protein bars and string cheese on the plane. This way, worst case scenario, I will be able to get all the protein I need while I am there (I am only staying 3 days). I also made sure there was some place I could work out while I was there, too. I think I have it all pretty much covered. It will be the first time I am not on the "vacation diet" while I am there - I usually do the eating tour of NYC lol :-) Now, if I can get away with not needing a seat belt extender, that will really make my trip!
Is there anything special you do to prepare for traveling post-surgery?

Garber6th How did it go? I travel a lot and just got sleeved 11/26/13, so I'm prepping for my first trip in January. Would love any other advice you could share!0

It went very well! I think planning ahead is definitely the key, and making sure you have a plan B, which for me was backup protein shakes and bars. No one really cooked while I was there, so when they would order food or when we would go out, I always made sure that there was a protein option, which was pretty easy. The only thing that didn't go according to plan was that I didn't have time to exercise. We were on the go almost all the time, and for me, it was WAY too cold to go out walking even when I did have a little down time. I did walk around a lot at the airport while I was waiting for my flights, so I was able to get in a little exercise then. I made sure I got right back into my routine when I got home too. It's really good to know that travel is doable!0
