  • Wow, I love reading about everyone's race plans for next year!! For myself, I'm hoping to do (but haven't registered for any yet):

Run for Rural Medicine 10K (this is just a "fun run" put on by my medical school), Victoria BC - April 7 2014

BMO Vancouver Half Marathon, Vancouver BC - May 4 2014
Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon, Vancouver BC - August 23 2014

And maaaaybe (depending on how the year's training goes and if I can bulid up my running base to be able to train for a full):
Goodlife Fitness Victoria Marathon (otherwise Half Marathon), Victoria BC - October 12, 2014

So, I looked into the Rock n Roll series after the other thread about it, and on impulse, I registered for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon in Seattle! so my race schedule is now:

Run for Rural Medicine 10K, Victoria BC - April 7 2014
    TC 10K, Victoria BC - April 27 2014
RocknRoll Half Marathon, Seattle, WA - June 21 2014 - registered!
Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon, Vancouver BC - August 23 2014
Goodlife Fitness Victoria Marathon (or Half Marathon), Victoria BC - October 12, 2014

would like to do the Berlin marathon (September I think) if I survive/enjoy the distance in May, can't think much beyond Edinburgh at the moment

I hope you like the distance! But just FYI, the Berlin Marathon is already long sold out for next year :/
I was trying to sign up yesterday, and I'll have to wait until 2015 I guess.

oh no :( even charity places? I don't mind a bit of fundraising!

ETA - LOADS of charity places and unlike London you only need to raise about £1k

What races are you registered for or planning to do in 2014?

I have a 10k booked for May (London)
A Half Marathon for June (Southend)
    A 10k for October (Southend)
A 10 miler end of October (Portsmouth)

Possibilities, but waiting for confirmation that time off work will be granted are for

A Half Marathon in February (Torremolinos)
A Half Marathon for December (2014) (Lanzarote)

I will do numerous 5k parkruns during 2014, work shifts permitting

I'm only registered for one at the moment - Cowtown Ultra (50k) in February.

    Planned:
    Texas Half (Feb)
    Irving Half (April)

Looking to do just one full in Fall 2014. Don't know which one yet.

Am also looking for some shorter races (5k's and 10k's) as I have not raced those in a while.

Vancouver would be such a cool place to run. First time I was there, I was just passing through on the way to Alaska. I came back out there a couple of years ago, spent a few days there (rather than just passing though) and loved it. Really a great city. Maybe I should consider that rather than Chicago.

Yes Vancouver is quite a beautiful city to run in! I would definitely recommend the BMO Vancouver Marathon / half marathon. It's the only half marathon I've done, so I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I found it was very well organized and a nice route (a good balance between running through the city and along the beaches).

But of course, the grass is always greener, right? I would love to head down to the States to do some of the big city races one day - especially NYC and Nike Women's (San Fran) but Chicago sounds interesting too! :-)

The only race I'm officially registered for so far is the Run to Remember 1/2 marathon in Boston on Memorial Day weekend. I'll def. do a BUNCH of spring 5 and 10K races, and if all goes according to plan I will run my first full marathon in October.

    Hi!

I just joined this group, because I am signed up to do the Las Vegas Rock and Roll Marathon in November. The full thing.

    This is my first marathon.

I'm excited and nervous and pretty much terrified.

I've done a few 5K's and a 10K, but I have never attempted any long races.

I'd LOVE to have some of you runners friend me and give me tips and pointers  :flowerforyou:

Just Disney marathon for now in January. Most of my races from 5k - 50k are all impromptu... I'd like to throw in an endurance 24 hour run in there somewhere though.

I am signed up for just 3 so far:-
Jan 5th First Chance 10k Exeter.
    March 2nd Bath HM
April 12/13th The Wellington Boot 100k Trail walk/run.
The rest of the year will depend on how I do in the "Boot", if I complete it then I am qualified for the 2015 LDWA 100 miler, so I will concentrate on long distance. If I don't then I will concentrate on half marathons and maybe my first marathon.
