New Year's Start Fresh

A lot of people make New Year's resolutions but most abandon them within a few weeks, let’s not be one of them. They just don't stick to their intentions. Today we are vowing to work together to motivate and cheer each other on!!!! I have found MFP to be an invaluable tool in my efforts to lose from 10-20 pounds along with support from friends and different challenges that I have tried.
First and foremost, I would like for us all to start with a long term perspective. We are not looking for quick fixes or miracle cures. We all want to build something sustainable - changes that would not only help improve our health, but would also help keep the improvements in place for years to come. A mantras for all of us "don't make changes you're not willing to keep up for the rest of your life." WE all need to love ourselves just a little bit more!!!!!
Second, we have all chosen to be surrounded by each other to be good influences for us-- We are all Successful knowledgeable people, blunt, honest and straightforward. We all tell it like it is, and that's what we need to hear. in addition, we are all resilient, adaptable people with a good senses of humor, we who know life has its ups and downs, and that we need to work through them. There's no quitting - every day we all will have to fight. All of us are in similar circumstances and challenges and understand, empathize, and can share ideas and experiences to help each other.
Third, lastly, and most importantly, we all need to take responsibility for our ATTITUDE. Other people can support and encourage you, but ultimately, it's up to YOU to make it happen. You can't let another person's bad attitude or lack of support deter you - succeeding is your choice and your alone.
In all that all being said,did you notice, there's no diet and exercise recommendations - there's a lot of different reasons and goals people have (we're not all here for the same thing), and many ways to get there. There's no one right path, (though there are a lot of wrong ones). Experiment, learn, adjust, get back up when you fall down, and get it done in 2014.

Thanks for posting Celene! Terria and I were talking and hoping this was not a challenge between us. To see who would lose the most weight. You know we do get a little competitive. So this is good for a life change and to be healthy. I say Let's Get Started!!!!! We've got each other... Love Y'all0
