Chicago Marathon anyone? marathon first timer

Decided on Chicago Marathon. It's happening. Registration isn't until March though, I'll be a little anxious until I have that nailed down. I do have a plan B marathon though;) Anyone been? Have recommendations, cheap (relatively) hotels, Chicago race related tips/pointers, etc? It's October 12th.

    Sounds amazing!! I'd love to do Chicago as my first if I lived closer. Any idea how hilly the track is, relative to others?

    I've heard it's pretty flat but the finish is on Roosevelt uphill:) Make you earn if you haven't already LOL!

    If I'm not mistaken, they are switching to a lottery system so unless you raise money for a charity, like Girls on the Run or LLS, you'll have to take your chances. I put in for NYC Marathon in November, also wanted to put in for Chicago. The way my luck is, I'll get into neither or both! :P
