Katjohn you'll be fine. You've got time. Sounds like you know what's going on with your body which is truly commendable. My weight goes up twice during my monthly cycle which is frustrating, but I just remind myself its temporary. You are still doing great.

Like Paula, my loss has slowed big time. That said, I am eating more (volumne) and have significantly increasde my health and unhealthy carbs. I want to leave processed sugar behind again and hope by loss picks up to a whooping 2 pounds a week!

    My Numbers:
    SW: 317
    CW: 199.5
GW: 195 (easy) or 190 (challenging)
    LTGW: 140

    Weigh ins:
1/3/14= 200 (+ .5) Normal fluctuation for daily weighing. This half pound is there one day and gone the next.
1/11/14= 199.5 (- .5) Back to Onederland, but only as of this morning.
    1/18/14=
    1/25/14=
    1/31/14=

Switching from Friday to Saturday, since it's easier to weigh on a non-work day (and I weigh less later in the morning... )

I gained (and lost) 2# last week, may have been salty sausages, weight-lifting, etc.... My new mantra: "With 80gm protein and less than 800 calories, it is physically impossible to gain weight. Believe. Trust. Persevere."

    To all, best wishes!

Paula, I'm a little concerned with this. I may simply be misunderstanding. It reads as if you are aiming to eat less than 800 cl/day. If that's true it is a dangerous thing to do and it is possible for you to gain weight at that number, I speak from experience. I have in my past restricted down to just 240 cl a day with 3-4 hours of exercise a day. The weight loss stalled out after about 20-30 lbs. I am, and was then, aware of the dangers I was posing to my body. At too low of a restriction your body will burn through your bones, organs, and muscle tissue to keep going. Severe restricting can also lead to your gallbladder becoming diseased and that can require surgery. If your electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) get too low, which can happen through excessive sweating from exercise and not enough intake, you can easily end up with a fatal heart attack. I am sincerely hoping I a misunderstanding the "less than 800 calories" part. If I am, I apologize for being preachy. Please, take care of yourself. We want you to be around to enjoy life not suffering through it.

Etherlily, thanks for the concern, but you will find several of us on this group that have had weightloss surgery. We are all under doctors care and on specific diets. Paula sticks to hers with a passion. I'm lucky to hit the occasional 900 calorie day! lol

Thank you so for the concern. Any person that I saw in the group making a comment like that, I'd check to see if they were WLS patient and if not, I too would be out there urging care.

Way to look out for another member of the group!

    Etherlily,
Thank you so much for your concern. And thank you very much for speaking up. It never hurts to ask. The 240cal/day you were on sounds frightening. I am so glad you learned better!!

Yes, as Dan said, I had weight loss surgery and am acting on doctor's orders. They increase our vitamins and give us medicine to avoid gall bladder surgery. But I am looking forward to increasing my calorie consumption when I hit maintenance (in about fifty more pounds).

    You are so sweet! :flowerforyou:

Hi Cookie - Good job. Fantastic loss!!

Dan and Paula: Thank you. I feel better now. I did not even think about the restrictions with that come with WLS. I will be more mindful in the future. I am glad it is working for you. I thought about it, but it has frightened me a good bit. And Paula, you'll get to the maintenance road soon enough when you don't have to be so restricted. I have a friend that had WLS but we have never really talked about it. Again, thank you for letting me know what was up. I just worry too easily I guess.

Clmcnett: I understand. I was afraid to post my weight for fear of jinxing myself in the process. You're doing great!
