Sole Survivor - Dean Koontz

Our new book for January! I'll be starting it after the first but I know most of us are done with the last book, so I figured I'd post the new book and open up a new discussion for this book, in case anyone gets started early.

The Koontz fans might have known this already but I just did a quick google search and saw that "Sole Survivor" was a 4 hour mini-series in 2000! Anyone see it, or have a link where we could watch it?

Anyone start the book yet? I just started it this afternoon and I'm a couple chapters in. I have to say, I've never read Koontz before but I really enjoy his writing style!

I started yesterday. Really like Koontz's books and this one starts out good.
I don't recall seeing the mini series. Wonder of it is available on Netflix or amazon.

I finished yesterday. Really good story. Makes you think along several lines about life and who is really in charge.

I just graduated college and have been just absorbing books the last couple weeks; I've already finished another since I finished Sole Survivor :)

In case anyone was wondering, I see you can buy the mini-series on Amazon. I asked for it for my birthday, haha!

    Congrats on graduation.
I have also been reading other books in between. Have 9 waiting for me on my Kindle and started one today which is another fast moving book. I am also halfway through Barbara Kingsolver's Prodigal Summer. A slower read.

Hi Guys- I am still here, but not supposed to read due to neck surgery. Will try to find it audio online tomorrow. Kids have no school today due to 50 below weather so listening to anything not an option today lol. Hope you are all doing well. Sounds like this is a good read so hope I can find it tomorrow!

All done! This was my first Koontz book, and I have to say it just didn't click with me. I did find it a fairly easy read, and should have been done much faster, had it held my interest.

I'm not going to say it was the book's fault, though; I really have to be in the right mood, and it just didn't do it for me.

    What's next?

I'm on a book binge right now too - I got $125 in Kindle GC for Christmas and so far, have bought about 8 books that I've been wanting to read! Currently reading "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruis Zafon for another book club I'm in. It's a long, slower book but I've found I really enjoy it. It's not one I can sit and read for hours (it's pretty heavy material) but its good.

Funny how we all have different feelings about the books! When you say it didn't "click" with you, was it Koontz style of writing, the subject matter, or something else? Just out of curiosity

Any suggestions for the next book?
