Hi, I cook mostly veg so I am always looking out for this.

As vegetarian you will get your proteins from dals, beans, dairy, soya, even green leafy vegetables to some extent.

Make sure you have an adequate intake of milk,, paneer, curd.

Eat varied and balanced meals to make sure you are getting complete proteins.

Soya chunks (Nutrela) are good if you don't have to watch your soy intake.

Don't forget about nuts and seeds. If you are eating kaju katli you can have protein even in your sweets! Just kidding. Kind of.

Does anyone have any good vegetarian cookbooks to recommend?
  • I love Madhur Jaffrey's World Vegetarian and cook from it at least once a week. :-)

I use a book "Unjunked" by Suman Agarwal. It has good Indian recipes and also meal plans for weight loss.
  • Have been eating Keto Chapatti's lately with my curries and OMG! taste so amazing. Only 4g Carbs instead of the 20g with normal chapattis.
