What a difference form makes - bench press

I've been straining to complete my bench press and haven't really added much weight in the 5 weeks I've been doing SL. I didn't research form much for this because I thought - 'duh, bench press' (Silly me...) Seriously - even getting 5x5 with the bar was challenging.

Finally watched Mehdi's demo and explanation and what an amazing difference! Today I got through even my 5th set feeling strong / 65 pounds.

Lesson learned: always check form and review often!

I also like the "So you think you can bench press" series on youtube. Form is key to getting most out the lifts.

Second this. Although Dave Tate now recommends at least a slight J curve.
  • Hear, hear - I was having a problem pulling my SI (sacroiliac) joint (presents in lower back above hip on one or both sides) when dead lifting.

Then I watched this video on form...

And now I have no problems and finally have pushed past DL bodyweight - Hooray...!
