Hello everyone! I'm new to MFP (my goal is 60 lbs.), and new to the Montreal area - I'm in Rosemont. I'm transplanted from the San Francisco area, so I'm also new to all this snow and ice. I'm looking for activities (preferably cheap or free), restaurants that have good low cal menus, and any other advice you have to share.

Yummy suggestions. I looked at the menu, and from what little I could understand (my French sucks!) it all looked very good. I think I might check out the brunch some time.
I don't have a gym. Since our time here is unknown, it could be 2 months or 2 years, I'd hate to commit to a long-term contract. If I could find one with a reasonable monthly rate, I'd consider it. I have recurring plantar fasciitis, and when it flares up, I'm lucky to be able to be on a bicycle. So a gym with a pool would be ideal. My favorite form of exercise is an obscure folk dance but with PF all kinds of dancing is right out. I'm hoping as I lose weight the PF will diminish.0
