$50 gift card at a running store -- what to get?

Last fall I won a $50 gift card to a running store in Asheville, 2 hours away from where I live. I'm heading up there this weekend and would like to cash in my prize.
Problem is, I don't know what the store carries -- they don't have an online store, so I need a bunch of ideas on what to get.
Open to any suggestions for items under $100.

You could stock up on gels and blocks and whatever thing you use as fuel ?!?
I'm sure they carry a variety and I hate shredding $$ on that kind of thing... So 50$ worth of it for free would be nice!0 -
Is there a reason you can't decide when you get there? If it's your gift card, and you're the one going, why can't you see what they have when you get there and decide then? Just seems like an odd question.
Socks, lock laces (or similar), gus/blocks, reflective bands/LEDs are always safe and cheap.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions -- I guess I was hoping for more of a treat than just stocking up on essentials -- some special piece of equipment that never realized I needed. They always seem to be a lot more or a lot less than $100 though.0

Gotcha.
Lock laces are the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that might fall into the "seemed like an interesting idea/gadget when I bought it, but now I can't run without it" category. But I'm more of a minimalist runner, I don't run with music or belts or anything, and often times I don't even take my garmin.
Oh, road ID... not much fun, but pretty essential, IMO.0 -
$50 is a good down payment on a new set of shoes. You can always use more shoes!0

That's not a bad idea, actually!0 -
good ideas! I like the lock laces a lot. Personally, I would grab a bunch of body glide and some more lock laces. )0

Most of the things I can think of you probably already have!
Do you own a foam roller? How about compression socks? Perhaps a water belt or head lamp for your upcoming ultra training?0 -
My last running related purchase was a bad *kitten* Saucony reflective jacket with rechargeable USB LED lights. It was the best purchase ever. I got it at TJMaxx for $35, but the running store may have something similar. I know it also comes as a vest.0

Lock laces and Socks! I love new socks!0

I'm guessing you've already got most of the stuff I'd be thinking of! My mind goes to gear... like a hydration belt or Gu/race bib holder, or a head lamp, or reflective bands / flashing lights, maybe compression sleeves or new running sunglasses. At this point, I'm also thinking of getting a foot pod for my Garmin, so that comes to mind, too!
In any case, happy shopping!!!0 -
I could always go for a plain tech shirt (long or short sleeves). My current "must have gear" is a pair of Brooks windstopper gloves with a water resistant overmitten for when the weather turns snotty that tucks back into the glove. Its also designed to be usable with the touchscreen phone.0

The thing I need most is probably compression tights -- mine are getting worn out and you can always use more. I'm afraid they are probably not going to have my size and / or a brand I like though...hence the question. STrooper, I have those gloves! They are great for running in any weather over about 20 degrees. One other thing I'm considering is an even warmer pair for the bike -- just not sure they will have them at a store called "Jus' Running".
Keep the suggestions coming! This is useful!0 -

I would buy at least 2 rolls of KT tape. Then buy something reflective (maybe wrist blinking bracelet-like those a lot- for running in darkness to round up to 50. ;D0

A shoe? :laugh:0

I ended up getting a pair of super warm mittens / liners for $48. I'm counting this as my "gift" because there are probably only 15-20 days a year when it is actually cold enough to wear them in NC. But they'll definitely be nice for those days.
I also bought a pair of Sugoi running tights -- something I definitely needed and probably would have bought anyways. Thanks for all the tips!
These are the mittens:
