This is a tough one. I just started dating again after a long break. I admit that I have a strong personality, but I was told by one guy that I was "scary." Assertive "yes," but "scary" -- no.

How does one successfully date as a strong woman and a feminist?

    Oh my, this is so tough, and I'm afraid I just don't know. All I know is that I hope you can, while keeping all that is feisty about you. I am gay, and while being assertive can still be intimidating, it can also be attractive, and I think that for my wife and I, it's part of how we fell for each other. I hope you are blessed enough to find someone who treasures that in you. You are enough.

    I don't have any respect for anyone who tells me they are intimidated by me. Forget that person. You need someone you can relate to and who can relate to you.
